This is an extraordinary album. A must have for any ethnic Turkish music fan. However it is unfortunately very hard to find because it's not being published any longer. Because it's somewhat expensive (~$35-$40 since it's a rare item), I wasn't sure if it's worth the cost. I've enjoyed Talip Ozkan's earlier albums a lot, so in the end I decided to shell out the money. It was well worth it! It's a shame such albums are not produced anymore.

The duration of the album is somewhat short (~40 min) which is certainly a disappointment. However the performance is of highest quality. My favorite pieces are "Cay basina bostan ektim" and "Coban".

Talip Ozkan's level of artistry, technical and expressive skill both in terms of instrument and vocals, is overwhelming. Interestingly enough you can't find any of his albums (save one) in Turkey! But he's well known in the international community by ethnic music enthusiasts. If you like this album I'd strongly recommend his other album "L'art du Tanbur" which is at least as impressive (and actually cheaper to obtain). The instrument of this album is Tanbur as opposed to Saz. The only Tanbur music I have and through which I've heard of the artist the first time. It's instantly enchanting!

I bought this CD almost a year ago and I still listen often. My favourite piece is the second one:"Cay basina bostan ektim". I think Talip Ozkan is an excellent performer and a real artist in true meaning of word: unpretentious and masterful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Master of his art, June 15, 1999

Talip Ozkan is a real master of Turkish Folk Music. Without doubt, he is one of the best performers ever lived in Turkey (like Arif Sag, Musa Eroglu, Neset Ertas, Ali Ekber Cicek etc.). Unfortunately, you will not find many CD's of this high-quality Saz performance on the international market. This CD is a must for everybody interested in Turkish Folk Music.
