2.0 out of 5 stars Ok for photographs, but little more
I read Mr. Marrs "Mysterious Monuments" and to me it is simply another conspiracy theory book that that strikes paranoia into the people who have a pre-dispositioned method of believing in the enigmatic "illuminati". His basic thesis is any building or art form that carries an unusual shape, any art form that is not "Judeo-Christian" and any language that not crystal...

5.0 out of 5 stars Texe Marrs has another info packed best seller., July 22, 2008
This review is from: Mysterious Monuments: Encyclopedia of Secret Illuminati Designs, Masonic Architecture, and Occult Places (Paperback)
Texe Marrs has created another reference work "Mysterious Monuments" to complement his previous book "Codex Magica". In "Mysterious Monuments", author Marrs leaves no stone unturned in analyzing the buildings of the cities from around the world. He finds example after example of Masonic
imagery and design in the geometric shapes and facades of churches and
temples. Also the carvings and statues of strange "gods" and "goddesses"
hidden in plain view. A completely researched and documented work with
hundreds of photographs and drawings clearly illustrating the "hidden
agenda" in the buildings and mysterious "Georgia Guide Stones" and other
unexplained ruins and artifacts.

Mysterious Monuments: Encyclopedia of Secret Illuminati Designs, Masonic Architecture, and Occult Places

This is the book what I like to recommend to everybody who is prepared to enter a new world, a world that is stranger than fiction ever can be. The world you about to enter when you read this book, is, although you never tread it before, neverthelles, a true and existing world. It is a place of mysterious buildings, statutues whereof the architecture contains secret mesages. These mesages can only decoded by the best "decipher machine", namely "Mysterious Monuments". Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words, July 31, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Mysterious Monuments: Encyclopedia of Secret Illuminati Designs, Masonic Architecture, and Occult Places (Paperback)
The pictures and commentary in this "encyclopedia" speak volumes about the history and significance of hidden or occult meanings. Although Codex Magica (his former book about occult symbols and signs) may have had some examples that were merely coincidental to masonic/occultic handsigns (think of the diablo handsign), the pictures in Mysterious Monuments of deliberately planned, well-engineered architecture and monuments leave much less room for coincidence.

Some of the pictures in this book such as a Catholic church service in front of an all-seeing eye are sadly convincing that many innocent people don't know the meaning behind these symbols. Mysterious Monuments informs the reader of the history, significance and purpose of such monuments as the obelisk and all-seeing eye. For myself, reading through Mysterious Monuments accomplished what I believe it was intended to do-which is to stir people up to think critically about this world. Why does the New Age movement parallel Albert Pike and Helena Blavatsky? Why did Henry Ford receive a high award from Adolf Hitler? Why did the US let German scientists continue their work with Operation Paperclip? At the very least, this book started prompting me to ask questions such as, "Why isn't the Washington Monument direct in its visual representation. Of all the boundless creative possibilities, why was an obelisk chosen?"

Obviously there is a deeper level in the world than is portrayed across popular culture and Mysterious Monuments is a great place to get a solid visual reference on many of the deeper/hidden thoughts and intentions that are encoded in architecture.

5.0 out of 5 stars eyeopening, July 21, 2008
This review is from: Mysterious Monuments: Encyclopedia of Secret Illuminati Designs, Masonic Architecture, and Occult Places (Paperback)
This book has really opened my eyes to what statutes or designs are on buildings. I had no idea what the hidden meaning was. I have often wondered why there were so many hideous creatures and strange designs on buildings and now I know why! Great job on explaining the various symbols and the pictures are great!

5.0 out of 5 stars Mysterious Monuments - A must read!, July 21, 2008
This review is from: Mysterious Monuments: Encyclopedia of Secret Illuminati Designs, Masonic Architecture, and Occult Places (Paperback)
This is one of those books that should be used as a mandatory High School text book, or even acceptable for college level studies.
This book should be read by every English speaking person on the planet. It will provide a necessary understanding of our past builders, to understand why things are the way they are today.

This book will serve to be one of the centerpieces of my large library, and will be one of those on my top ten list of suggested reading to anyone who wishes to understand who runs the world and how they do it.
