A good adventure story for boys, and of particular interest to Ayn Rand fans,
By Ash Ryan (Salt Lake City, Utah) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Mysterious Valley (Hardcover)
Pretty good...sort of a typical boy's adventure story of the early twentieth century, but a good one. The writing's a bit uneven, but I don't know how much of that is attributable to the original and how much to the translation. It doesn't have a very strong plot, but the story is good and there are some strong characters. You can see why it would have appealed to young Alisa Rozenbaum living in Russia, and the influence on the adult Ayn Rand as a writer is obvious. Definitely worth reading...kudos to the translator for all his work in bringing this out!
