5.0 out of 5 stars LOTS of far so good. January 25, 2013

This is a quirkier game than others by Big Fish that I have played. I am about 4 hours into it and there has been A TON OF PLAY!!! And it has run flawlessly on my Kindle Fire HD 8.9" with great zooms, saves my place reliably when I leave, no freezes and the only thing I will say about the ho scenes is that some are really HARD, which I love, because they are chocked full of stuff and some are very well camouflaged with the really do have to look on the zoom, but I have found all of the objects so far. There aren't any below the bottom inventory bar. The graphics are just amazingly rendered and beautiful! Even if they are gross!!!! Each scene is just gorgeous like all Big Fish I have played and that's why I love them so much! And the story is really good, too.

I REALLY, REALLY dislike the sarcastic remarks that ensue when you try the wrong tool for the job...they are derisive and really detract from the game's great atmosphere of dread and fear. Interjecting these remarks takes you out of the moment.

The puzzles are difficult and I do wish there was a walkthrough within the story. There is a journal that is really useful with locations, secret numbers and signs and hints, but not for the puzzles; BUT you can skip them...whew! I just could NOT figure one of them out.

There are a few humorous little clues that enchant! And some very cute animal animations. Just darling!

I give this 5 because it is very long and intricate and has worked fine for me. It's difficult, but not impossible to solve the puzzles and I just love the look of it and the way it works. It has a strong story and MANY LOCATIONS, each beautifully rendered. The ho's are just incredibly lovely and complicated. It has a LOT OF PLAY.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great game January 24, 2013
Well I am pleased I didn't read the reviews before purchasing this game as I don't think I would have bought it

Not just a hidden object game there are some mini puzzles to do that took a little bit of thinking about but if you don't want to complete there is a skip

Yes a little blurry if you make the hidden option screen too big but not a real problem

I would definitely recommend this game to those who enjoy a hidden object game that needs a bit of thought rather than just clicking away

Looking forward to more Big Fish games soon

5.0 out of 5 stars Just as great as the pc version! January 26, 2013

This is one of my favorite games from big fish. I was really excited to see this game available for the kindle hd and it did not disappoint. If you follow the directions on how to use the tools you should not have any problems at all getting through the game.
I hope big fish continues to make more of these types of hidden object games available for the kindle hd.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really, really good...loved it! January 29, 2013

I played this on my Kindle Fire with no problems, though it does take a while to download. Well done, artistic graphics and detailed, involved story. The game was above average in difficulty due in part to there being no hint option, other than for the specific hidden object areas. I had to refer to a free on line walk through for help solving some of the mandatory puzzles that cannot be skipped. These are the hardest...of course. I thoroughly enjoyed the game though, and it gave me hours and hours of gameplay. You will definitely get your money 's worth for $1.99!! On occasion you need to tap on a hidden object item more than once as some of the objects in the sparkley areas are a little pickey as to exactly where you tap them. There are other "Ravenhearst" games and I was disappointed not to find them on Amazon for my Kindle. I hope they are available soon, along with all the other "Mystery Case Files," if "Ravenhearst" is any indication of their game quality. I much prefer HO games that have a detailed story, a variety of mini games, and a decent level of diffuculty. This game fit all the requirements and then some. The only reason I did not give it five stars is because it lacked a hint option. It does have a "computer" which you can place an item in your inventory over and it is supposed to give you a hint as to where the object is used. Unfortunately it did not work very well and I had to keep trying to put the inventory object on the computer over and over and over again. I mostly gave up on using it out of frustration, and that when it did work the hints were not very "Hintful". All in all though this is really a great game that I enjoyed emensely, and hated to see end. I highly recommend it and hope to see more in this series available very soon. Big Fish does it again...quality game, reasonably priced, that is extremely engrossing and entertaining.

3.0 out of 5 stars ok but could be alot better January 24, 2013

like others have said if you get stuck the help button is useless. it will find thing in the hog but. other than that the only thing you can use it for is to drag an item onto it and it is SUPPOSED to tell you what to do with it. but the one time I tried that I saw no result. another annoying thing is when you perform certain tasks (like breaking stuff, digging holes, etc) you have to do it several times to get the job finished. which means you bring up the inventory click/drag on object to the desired position, the inventory closes, repeat, repeat, repeat. there were also several times when I was usinng the correct object but was off by a mm or so and the game would "yell" insults at me. the objects in the hog are very small and while there is a zoom feature you can only enlarge it a little bit before the object become blurry. luckily there is a skip feature for. the puzzle sections since there are no instructions for them. there are clues around to help in solving some of them but if you overlook one you are sol.

in all the game was ok but big tish has definitely done better.

SPOILER ALERT: had to use a walkthrough for the elevator skull section and there are a couple of different solutions for one of the answers but only one that works. use the #'s 5, 6, 76, 300. you can figure out where.

It might not be your tv actually - it's probably the fire tv you have to adjust. Go to the settings tab and scroll over until you see "settings". There is a section there for "Display" where you need to adjust the picture for your tv. Once you adjust the arrows under... Read More
