This book totally captured my full attention from page one!

The book is fast paced, and the scenes flow flawlessly into each other. The writing is good, and the author has done a good job of setting the scenes and adding enough details to make you feel like you are right there.

If you are a fan of kidnapping books, serial killer fiction kindle books, assassinations and conspiracies, murder victims, mafia thrillers, or if you're a fan of mafia fiction kindle titles you will enjoy this book!

I've read many of Kipling's books and he's a great storyteller with a knack for suspense thrillers and mysteries. This book was good and I look forward to reading any others he may release in the future.

Suspense and action dominate n this tense and complex procedural. I really liked the layers of organization at play in this plot: a family with generations of prominent law enforcement leadership battling the Italian mafia, an underground protection arm, and a torture-loving serial killer, with various overlapping interests and investigations. Kipling doles out the information, reveals and twists in a harrowing fashion, so we're never quite sure when our central characters will be safe, or whom they should be trusting when even police members in the same family keep major secrets from each other.

I gravitate to strong female leads like Hazel Hanson. She's tough, a fearless fighter, and loyal to a fault. She continually has to prove herself. She's vulnerable too, by nature of the plot against a slasher, but also as a person who thinks she needs to reject personal relationships and potential motherhood. She's an intriguing character, and I'm hoping there are sequels in the works so we can continue to see what's next for Hazel.

The ending, whew, I don't want to spoil it for you. Buckle up. It's a rough ride!

How unexpected this book ended. A great read! Now normally I am right to who are the guilty ones or what will happen next, though not with this one. Author James Kipling has an unique writing style as he takes you on a journey of emotional whirlwind with twists and turns. As soon as you think you know what will happen next, the Author surprises you with an interesting twists.

This is a well developed storyline keeping you guessing as the story unravels before your eyes. I believe anyone will elate to some character within this book with all the details built unconsciously to the reading, into the background and personalities of each character and plots.

An awesome story filled with mystery, love and destruction, drama and hate and the unfortunate of death. The first time I could put down this book was when I finished reading the last page. Well done to the Author! I highly recommend this book to anyone wishing to entangling themselves in a bit of unpredicted mystery.

This was a fast-paced, intriguing and entertaining mystery thriller & suspense novel that had me on the edge of my seat from the very first page until the last. "On the Inside" is the story of Detective Hazel Hanson's efforts to solve the Slitter Case in NYC while embroiled in personal and professional problems that prove to be far more involved and complicated than she may be able to handle. Hazel is a strong and independent female character that resonates with readers (especially women); she's smart, witty, strong, in control and wonderfully human... flaws and all. The plot is well thought-out, weaving the mystery story of Hazel's personal and professional life into the serial murder case so that everything feels smooth and connected... it's just a dark fantasy waiting for the readers to connect the dots and see the bigger picture. Overall, this was one of the best thrillers that I have read in a while, mixing human elements with fantastical crime and mystery to weave an entertaining crime fiction novel that certainly kept me engaged until the very end.

Great story concept, poorly written. I encourage this budding author to read Stephen King 's On Writing. Learn some basic fiction writing skills. Then, rewrite this story.

This is the second book I have read written by James Kipling but it won't be the last. I love the way he writes, there is never a dull moment. Full of drama and suspense. If you like mysteries you will love this writer.

Detective Hazel Hanson has her hands full… she’s working a high profile serial killer case, her brother has been kidnapped by the mafia, and she has been forced to partner up with her ex-boyfriend Owen (now an FBI agent) and she is unknowingly holding on to evidence that will likely get her killed.
I can’t resist a mystery with a strong female main character and “On the Inside” doesn’t disappoint. Hazel is smart, fearless, and proud—and even though she is the police chief’s daughter; she has earned her place on the force and doesn’t take crap from anyone.
“On the Inside” is a fast paced mystery novel with great characters, an entertaining romance subplot and a scary serial killer you can’t wait for Hazel to catch. I highly recommend this novel to readers who enjoy mysteries, feisty female leads, or thriller and suspense novels. Hopefully, Hazel will show up in a sequel.
