Jennifer, only child, lost her father at age 5. She got through the depressing years that followed by speaking with her invisible friend, Chad, whom she initially thought was all in her head. Many years later she has the opportunity to meet him. The voices were in her head but they are real!

I think that it is cool the way Broadrick in the book made Jennifer to be the average everyday person. I also like how she points out in the book that the gift can be a pain for the people on either end of the communication link. I give this book five stars.
