In spite of it's age (and it is getting seriously long in the tooth now), this is the best educational/documentary CD Rom I have ever come across. It contains a huge array of resources - the pictures, video clips, voiced-over explanations and quotes; it is easily navigable but you can get lost in it; it is also playful and therefore in accord with it's subject. It is nicely atmospheric with well chosen violin clips, good voices and a well designed interface.
It's still just about possible to get modern computers to play it (PCs really), thank goodness. Even with the lower bit depth of the visuals and audio, it still works its magic. When I make interactive work, this is what I aspire to. A masterpiece.

This cd-rom is very educational. The concept is clear and aesthetic, the original music also ads to the joy of the virtual balad through the museum. No wonder this cd has received many awards.
