Enjoyable read for everyone, not just young adults,
By
This review is from: Mystery at Marian Manor, The Adventures of Nora Brady, Student Nurse. (Paperback)
I found Mystery at Marian Manor to be a well written, interesting book. I could picture the patients and the setting clearly. I didn't want to put the book down until I finished it!Ms. Roche uses just enough medical terminology to sound authentic and real. That Nora is going to be a great, compassionate nurse! I can't wait to see what trouble and mystery awaits in Ms. Roche's next book.

Inspiration for Future Nurses,
By
This review is from: Mystery at Marian Manor, The Adventures of Nora Brady, Student Nurse. (Paperback)
Having been the father of two young ladies, this would have been a good book for them to read in their years of deciding on what they wished to be and do in their lives. It portrays an eager smart student, caring person and dedicated future nurse which would have been, (but is now), an excellent role model. It also illustrates very well how nursing home residents are real people, who care and are cared for, not just "salted away" until the inevitable end. Great read!

Move over, Nancy Drew, there's a new girl in town. Her name is Nora Brady and she's the new role model for these times. This would make a great movie for ABC Family or Disney. It's smart, compassionate, and extremely well written. I can't wait for Book 2 !!!!Peggy Lane O'Rourke

Excellent primer for the student nurse,

This review is from: Mystery at Marian Manor, The Adventures of Nora Brady, Student Nurse. (Paperback)
Nora Brady is a compassionate and caring individual...a role model for all student nurses and frankly, everyone else. This mystery has just the right blend of introspection, technical details, budding romance, workplace drama and plot line. The characters are well developed and honestly, it is a terrific whodunnit for all ages. I hope we see more of her in the future, sleuthing and nursing.

A role model for young girls,
By Mary Ann (Cincinnati, OH) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mystery at Marian Manor, The Adventures of Nora Brady, Student Nurse. (Paperback)
Marian Manor is an intriguing mystery story for tween girls - a good page turner. The heroine is a wonderful role model with an education and career that can inspire girls. What a great character for a series similar to Nancy Drew! Miss Roche knows nursing and young women and provides good insight into both.

Detective and Student Nurse?,

This review is from: Mystery at Marian Manor, The Adventures of Nora Brady, Student Nurse. (Paperback)
The Mystery at Marian Manor is a great read due to M.E. Roche's talent for creating delightful characters. It is impossible to read this book without getting involved in the lives of these nursing home residents. Nora Brady is ready and eager as a student nurse to tackle their problems. She is not without flaws, however, as she looks for clues and helps Dan Maguire, the "real" detective, unravel the mystery. Fans of mysteries will be looking forward to the next adventure of Nora Brady, student nurse!

Classic medical who-done-it!,

This review is from: Mystery at Marian Manor, The Adventures of Nora Brady, Student Nurse. (Paperback)
Nora Brady aspires to be the type of nurse every patient in America deserves to have taking care of them. Particularly in nursing homes, patients often feel isolated and dependent on the staff to provide loving care...and Nora Brady in this medical mystery proves to be quite the detective and dedicated student nurse. The read is enjoyable, authentic and medically informative to the young adult reader. Adult readers will enjoy its genuine cast of characters and will delight in a happy, concise ending. It sheds light and awareness on the importance of dedicated, moral and loving patient care in nursing homes. I would highly recommend this mystery to anyone!!!
