3.0 out of 5 stars Pathetic Pirate, October 2, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The Three Investigators find themselves in a seedy pirate themed amusement park only to find themselves rescued in the nick of time by Jupe's quick thinking. The descendant of a long forgotten California pirate keeps a secret that leads others to the park in a suspense filled stakeout and dramatic showdown between a seaplane and a motorized pirate ship.

This adventure is set near the Rocky Beach headquarters of the famous crime busting trio of kid detectives who have survived decades of competition from other kid detectives to become a cultural icon of law and order. William Arden was one many authors in this series.

By the way...there really is a purple pirate who makes a brief appearance as a loose plot end in this tedious tale. Good escape though from a dreary commute and the book goes well with tea.
