As MST3k is a show within a show within a movie format, I like to review the different parts of the episode in order to grade.

The movie: A mediocre movie about a mediocre Lawrence Welk singer trying to start his career while dealing with his violent thug past (you know - the typical Beatnik stuff). Will Eddie make it to the top? Will Eddie find true love? You really won't care thanks to the bad singing, ridiculous story line, and (of course) bad acting.

Host Segments: This opening, invention, and closing segments are hilarious! The others are pretty funny as well.

Riffs: There are really no excellent zingers but I give Joel and the bots credit for the constant riffing.

Overall: The movie isn't strange enough to be amusing and the riffs, while constant, aren't top notch. But the constant riffing and segments make this one a good MST3k episode.

Other: There is a OK short of a very very very old General Hospital episode.

Special note: Pay close attention to a scene about 75% through the film. There is a phrase muttered that Joel and bots kept repeating for a while. Always wondered why they said that phrase until I watched this episode.

***NOTE: I originally posted this review on Netflix.

ANOTHER WINNER, THIS ONE IS SO BAD, IT'S GOOD. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW I MANAGED TO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE BACK IN THE EARLY 60'S BUT I HAVE CORRECTED THAT NOW. THIS IS A MUST WATCH!
