It stands to reason that Dr. Clayton Forrester is as evil as he is--check out his mother! Clayton cooks and cleans all day long for Mom's visit, and all she wants to do is go out and carouse with TV's Frank. It's enough to make a demented genius force a guy and a couple of robots to watch a cheap knockoff of The Most Dangerous Game starring Robert Reed. Or something like that. Meanwhile, on the Satellite of Love, Crow and Servo are engaging in what any two stranded robots would do to pass the time: psychotherapy. Does Crow have a mother? Has he seen Cliffhanger? You know--all the juicy stuff. Before the feature presentation, Mike and the 'bots are treated to Uncle Jim's Dairy Farm, your typical weird-stuff-seething-beneath-the-surface classroom film (Mike in mock-narrator tone: "Repressed emotions help the evening pass without incident"). Finally, it's time for Bloodlust, in which a horribly wardrobed Father Brady (Crow: "His shirt's so tight you can see his liver!"), his large-featured girlfriend (Crow: "She's got more face than she needs"), his dorky friend ("Steve Allen, P.I.!"), and some other rabbit-in-the-headlights actress visit an uncharted island and dodge the homicidal intentions of its chief wacko resident. Worth watching for this classic exchange alone: "You ever shot a man?" "No, but I slapped Ann B. Davis once." --Bob Michaels

4.0 out of 5 stars MST3K hits it's mark with this one!, May 4, 2000
This review is from: Mystery Science Theater 3000: Bloodlust [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This episode of MST3K was done at the peak of "the Mike times". As good as MST3K is, I think it's safe to say that this episode is one of the best for sale right now. Believe me. If you're a fan of the show. Bloodlust will not let you down. As for the movie itself. It's a beautifuly over-acted film about a rich psycho who hunts people on his own private island (one of whom is Robert "Mr. Brady" Reed).

4.0 out of 5 stars Big fun, May 10, 2002

First of all, the short before the main movie is worth the price of this set. An "educational" movie about the summer of two kids from the big city on their uncle's dairy farm - which, ironically enough, these days would be an "organic" farm - is ripped apart in the usual MST fashion.

The main movie, Bloodlust, is one of the more coherent ones. If you've seen Manos you know what I am talking about. There was a script behind the movie and even though the whole idea is somewhat stupid don't expect any inconsistencies whatsoever here. That in itself makes it somewhat harder for the crew to comment and they have to pull the jokes from the movie's ridiculous plot. And they succeed. It's quite funny.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't miss this one, February 7, 2001

While "BLOODLUST" is a fine example of the comedic work of MST3K, with snappy riffing and great host segments, the real reason not to miss this episode is the short "A VISIT TO UNCLE JIM'S DAIRY FARM". Undoubtably the funniest and finest material ever put forth by the MST3K writers and staff. Be prepared to laugh your head off as the children romp in the hay loft and Jerry Lee Lewis joins the family for dinner. Just remember not to "rile Uncle Jim"!!!
