A Different Game, Easy For Kids,

This review is from: Mystery Solitaire: Secret Island (Video Game)
I purchased this game because I wanted something different. Most PC games are of the match the objects to make a string theme. This game is something different. The creators, Mumbo Jumbo, are very creative in how many different ways they can lay the cards out for play. The layouts start in simple patterns and end up in some of the most complex majong type layouts imaginable. The game is extremely easy to play however, and just as forgiving. You are stranded on a Secret Island. The object of your play is to get through the rounds which is how you travel around the island to find clues to the way home. You will play about 5 rounds of ever increasing difficulty solitare, then come to a ships portal. This is a bonus round where you collect your map piece. The bonus rounds are a seek and find game. You will have a list of about 5 or 6 items to find in a screen scene. As you progress around the island you are treated to beautiful scenery and some nice calming island music along with some goofy sounds. When you complete the last Bonus round and obtain the last piece of the map revealing the way home, your ship sails and takes you there. This was a big dissapointment. As in Pirate Poppers, I was expecting that I would be shown the way to my final treasure, but I would have to play even harder levels and play even harder bonus rounds to get there. This was not the case. Card playing is extremely simple. You have unlimited plays of the stack. You also have a shuffle option which almost always sets you up with a match so you can complete the last few moves. If you keep getting stuck, keep reshuffling. The penalty is 30 seconds on your over all time for each shuffle. Only one player can play at a time, but you can enter many names of different players. There is supposed to be a score and time compare for each round, but I found it did not always work. Over all for a few bucks, this game is fun, very forgiving, but could use some more challenges. Its perfect to waste away some time, keep young kids occupied or for elderly parents and such.

This is a fun little mahjong type game with hidden picture clues in between the levels. It's mildly entertaining. I finished the whole thing in one sitting, so don't count on hours of fun - but it was a pleasant distraction for a little while.

This is a fun solitaire type game. There are several different setups that this game makes use of throughout. This keeps the game from becoming boring because it keeps changing styles. There are picture searches and number matches that use a large variety of patterns. It doesn't require a lot of brain power to play. Plus you can stop anywhere and come back and pick it up again at anyttime without losing any points.
