DREAM TRIP? OR A NIGHTMARE OF TROUBLE?

When Hannah Gruen inherits a farm from a distant cousin, the Drews, with Bess and George, drive off for a scenic Oklahoma vacation. The plan is to sell the property and pack up whatever mementos Hannah wants to keep. But a terrifying encounter with a tornado is just the beginning of trouble. In a duffel bag Nancy discovers what looks like a ransom note -- and a gruff intruder appears, insisting that the bag is his! Is he planning a kidnapping?

Nancy contacts the local police, but they think it's a prank. When charming Derek Owens, a tornado chaser at the local university, offers to help, Nancy accepts faster than a lightning flash. But the clues she discovers lead her deeper into peril and Nancy's soon fighting for her life -- in the eye of a monster storm!

More About the Author

Carolyn Keene and Franklin W. Dixon are the pseudonyms under which many ghostwriters penned the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys series, respectively. Both series were created by Edward Stratemeyer, founder of the Stratemeyer Syndicate book packaging firm, in the late 1920s and early 1930s.

Stratemeyer's daughter, Harriet, and syndicate writer Mildred Wirt Benson were the two people primarily responsible for bringing the iconic character of Nancy Drew to life in the minds and hearts of millions of readers around the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorites, May 30, 2003
A Kid's Review
I am a huge fan of Nancy Drew- I've read most of the books, and played 6 of the 7 PC games. This book was one of my favorites! Nancy goes to Medicine Bluff, Oklahoma, because her housekeeper Hannah Gruen has inherited a farm there. On the way, she encounters a tornado and a duffel bag stuck in a tree with ransom letters in it! Nancy has to solve the case of a planned kidnapping, but little does she know that the kidnapper plans to kidnap HER on the way!
