Probably the best Boxcar Children book I have read! When theAldens travel to New York City they befriend wealthy Mr. Pound. Heshows them his enormous and expensive diamond, the Elizabeth Star. But no sooner do they see it, it disappears into thin air. Follow them around as they chase their suspects through New York.
