More About the Author

After taking photographs from the coast of California to the heights of the Himalaya Mountains over a period of many years the best photo opportunity showed up in my own backyard. I was so surprized I said "This must become a book!" And it has: "The Mystery at the Birdfeeder". Another surprize became "The Deer with the Purple Nose" which should be available late summer 2011. Didn't give up on my day job, but am working on books 3 & 4 in the series. All photographs. Children of all ages learn about the birds as the English Setters, Rusty & Purdy ask the birds for help solving mysteries.

As a birdlover and a consistent bird feeder, I really enjoyed this book... the photos are stunning and impressive... and the message of our treasures very often being in our own backyard is nice. As someone said to me recently, the best things in life aren't things. The beauty of the birds captured within the photos of this book presents that well.

I just gave my three-year-old grandson, "The Mystery at the Birdfeeder", and he loved it! I loved the beautiful pictures! My grandson doesn't know it, but his Great, Great Grandfather loved watching birds at his birdfeeder and I'm pretty sure he could have identified all the birds in North America. Through this book, my grandson will be able to learn about many birds, too.

My kids like anything with the word 'mystery' in it - so they were excited to start reading The Mystery at the Birdfeeder. Not only did they get to find out who the culprit was, they learned about many different kinds of birds in the process!
