This is the Christianity that appeals to all religions,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Mystic Christ (Paperback)
I very much appreciate these writings on Jesus the Christ, by Ethan Walker. It takes a lot of research, a gathering of many facts, dispelling a lot of propoganda generated and manipulated over ages by the existing religious order. I grew up a Hindu in India, studying in a Jesuit school and always wondered why the missionaries were so hell bent on saying their way was the only way (Jesus never said that) and realize that the greatest lesson I have learned is that Ego (being proud of only your religion is also a sign of the ugly EGO at play) is what inhibits love and peace. I think this book makes it clear that there are many paths to Love (our Father or heaven) and that seeing God evident in all his creation and in your neighbor is the only doctrine that really matters. This is a Jesus that I can believe in. Ethan's book will do more good for Christianity and other faiths than centuries of evangelism. God bless.

Finally. . .,

This review is from: The Mystic Christ (Paperback)
The grace and wit with which Mr. Walker writes would be welcome, regardless of the subject. However, as a Buddhist I must say that there are very (VERY) few volumes of Christian literature that have actually deepened my appreciation of not only the mystic aspects of Christianity, but Christianity as a whole as much as The Mystic Christ. This book is informative, without being preachy. It is witty, without being sarcastic. And it is honest, without prosyletizing. I own a small gift shop in a small-ish Oklahoma town, and we go through about a dozen copies a month. It is possibly our best selling single volume. Thank you, Mr. Walker, for your insightful and interesting product.

The Mystic Christ,
By Jeffrey B. Lynn (Beech Grove, IN United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Mystic Christ (Paperback)
The Mystic Christ is simply the best book on Mystic Christianity that I have ever read. I can ask no more of a book, than to change the way I perceive or experience life, "The Mystic Christ" has done both. The Mystic Christ is written in a very easy to read verbiage while it discusses some very weighty matters. Reading the book not only changed the way I think, but actually made me re-think my behaviors and how I interact with others in my personal day to day life. This book offers a plethora of lessons on wisdom, love and compassion. I wish that I could share this book with the world. I plan on giving this book out as Christmas presents this year. It literally a gospel, filled with Good News, and I would feel ashamed if I did not share it with all those that I love. You will not be disappointed in any sense by purchasing this book.

The author provides substantiated research and a higher conscious awareness about the esoteric message of Christ. Like the distant rumble of thunder the concept of non-duality is heralding flashes of higher spiritual insight into non-duality which acts as a catalyst sparking a realilzation of the universal nucelus of truth within all religions. With quotes from Buddha, Krishna, the Gnostic Gospels, the Jewish Kabbalah and more sources, the author is advancing an awareness for fostering religious tolerance and world peace. Read this noteworthy book and the entire concept of non-duality will peel away the layers of myth, and the root truth will become clear.

Profound Truths,
By "psiolent" (Amarillo, TX United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Mystic Christ (Paperback)
Disenchanted with the typical Christian interpretations of Jesus' messages, I've long felt that there was some deeper, alternative truth in the bible that was just out of reach. This book reveals that truth. Every page brings to light deep meaning and profound knowledge that I believe I've always known but was never able to express. The arguments presented are masterfully crafted and near perfect. I wept multiple times as this book struck chords deep within my spiritual self. This hidden gem is quite possibly the single most important text in many ages for seekers such as myself.

A timely book not only for the Christian world, but for all to read, assimilate, and apply in one's daily life. Simply because, as Mr. Walker meticulously points out from his extensive research, Jesus teachings and His life was an exquisitely beautiful example of unconditional Love and Compassion fully manifested in a human form. Love and Compassion are Universal. These Truths are "Self evident" and are found in every religious and mystical texts throughout every culture from time immemorial. And as Mr. Walker clearly articulates throughout this book, its that Love and Compassion we as humanity urgently need. A mentor of mine once said: Peace on Earth will be powerful, when power on Earth will be Peaceful. Presently, as in the past, the "power" that grips this planet is the power of the Ego. In this juggernaut of a book, Mr. Walker clearly makes the case that its the Ego and its ugly, ruthless manifestations of pride, fear, greed, lust, jealously, and fundamentalist thinking, (to name a few) that we as individuals and humanity as a whole need to eliminate if we truly want to grow and evolve. As Mr. Walker's mentor, who is quoted upon throughout this book - the Holy Mother "Ammachi", is fond of saying: Come quickly darling children, you who are of the Divine Essence of OM, come grow to be adorable. Jesus taught us to be innocent as a little child. As I read this book I sensed an undeniable beauty and grace flowing from its pages and as I finished I finally understood what Jesus meant by being innocent as a child. My sincere gratitude to the author for the creation of this book. May it inspire, give hope, and heal all those fortunate enough to read and cherish and live its message of Divine Love and Compassion. Here's an idea....with the Christmas season approaching, this book could make an ideal Christmas gift.

The Mystic Christ,

This review is from: The Mystic Christ (Paperback)
This is an excellent study of the teachings of Jesus Christ in a very readable and enjoyable book. The author, Ethan Walker III, offers lucid explanations of what Christ really said in a way that reveal the mystic wonders inherent in the sayings and lessons of this divinely inpired messenger. He includes many comparisons with other great spiritual leaders including Krishna, Buddha, Mohammed, and contemporary leader, Ammachi (Holy Mother), as well as with the Kabbalah teachings of Judaism. With clarity of insight and a good sense of humour, he shows the foibles of western culture's interpretations of Christ's teachings, through the ages, and how much of the depth of meaning has been lost through literalism, over-simplification, and mistranslation. The true message Christ, that of following the path of unity and love, is illuminated in discussions of "the Kingdom of Heaven" as here today, salvation and resurrection as spiritual awakening, forgiveness, and many other topics. This is a very helpful book for people of all faiths or non faith in gaining knowledge and understanding of the principles of Jesus, his disciples, and other great spiritual leaders.

Great Book!,
This review is from: The Mystic Christ (Paperback)
I'm so glad that the Lord led me to this book.
As a child, I understood unconditional love instinctively. As my ego grew, I fell away from the Truth, mistaking my "growth" for maturity. Thankfully, though, God never gives up on us, and I hear His call once again. Through surrendering my will to Him, He is drawing me home to the understanding I came into this world with; oneness. The greatest thing you can do in this life is to serve the Lord, and this book does that by reaching out to all who'll take notice. Mr. Walker shows us the heart of Christs' message and the way to a personal, deeply satisfying relationship with God and every person in this world. Well-written and fact based, 'The Mystic Christ' is my newest, most favorite companion to the Bible. I would definitely recommend it highly to everyone.

Walker reveals to us the missing message of Love,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Mystic Christ (Paperback)
I found Mr. Walker's work a welcome validation of what I've come to know as a Gnostic Christian. That is, God is love and wisdom and that "we" are all connected to God through the spark of God that represents each and every one of us.
Walker uses key Bible passages to point out that Jesus' message of love and our oneness with God has always been part of his message and his purpose. Walker develops his points and makes his case carefully and lovingly. It's also worth adding that Mr. Walker does not confine his arguements to using Christian texts, but brings in other religious teachings to show the wonderful commonality of all faiths and to demonstrate that "All religions are paths to God". Walker's research reveals how the knowledge of Mother God and reincarnation as once accepted concepts in early Christianity and other religions have all but been erased from Christian thinking. Again, Walker uses several theological sources to build his case. The bottom line is if you ever felt separate from God because of current orthodox Christian church beliefs and dogma, Walker will awaken your soul and offer you an enlightening and uplifting premise...We and God are eternally connected and that you can experience and come to know that oneness and LOVE (Oh my, the Love!!) with the Divine NOW. God's love is there to surround us and embrace us, we just need to get over ourselves and open our hearts to God's limitless and unconditional Love. Awaken Children! Bravo Mr. Walker. Your work was long overdue.

A guide to living!,
By
This review is from: The Mystic Christ (Paperback)
This is a book that invokes joy, passion, truth and is the key to what scientists having been looking for with regard to a unified field theory. The unifying field is simply - love, which is exactly what one has when one dispenses with the ego and lives for the Self, the one, true Self. Mr. Walker joyously, eloquently and evocatively captures the spirit of Christ by showing that differences don't mean division, dogma certainly does not equate with liberation and that Love, God and Freedom are essentially the same thing. It is works and ideas like this that will save mankind from its own bloated, self serving, ego imposed imprisonment. I hope.
