5.0 out of 5 stars Great music, great player and instrument
This has been one of my favourite CD's for many years. The Perotin is magnificent, as is the splendid recording of the Tournemire's Office 35, complete with introits. An excellent CD!

3.0 out of 5 stars Paying Homage to Perotin ROCKS in Deep Purple Sort of Way
OK, I have to admit that I actually haven't heard this CD, but it's taken me a LOOOONG time to find out that it even exists. See, the thing is that I heard ONE piece from this recording many years ago, "Homage to Perotin," sometime during my classical-lovin'/high school years (1989-1993), and I was blown away. It still blows me a away. Buy this CD simply to hear one of...

Buy this CD simply to hear one of the all time coolest pipe organ pieces EVER! Booming, droning pedal-tones! Perfect fourths! Weird rhythms! If you're the sort of person who likes dark melodrama in your "classical" music, or the sort that likes the even more melodramatic music of bands like Rush, Yes, King Crimson, ELP, or the "neo-classical" stylings of even sillier folks like Yngwie Malmsteen, you will eat this Perotin piece up! In mood, it's as though medieval composer was trying to make his era's equivalent to the 80s neoclassical/hair-pop-metal of Europe's "Final Countdown" (We're leaving for VenuSSS!!!").
