5.0 out of 5 stars A metaphysical initiation on Crystal Healing
I found that The Mystical Crystal is a useful guide on crystal therapy techniques. It changed my way of approaching to illnesses and emotional unbalances, through a more assertive and "light" options to cope with the needs of mind and body. I am transcribing bellow the note of the his renowned publisher on metaphysical matters, which is found on the back...

1.0 out of 5 stars Somewhat a waste of trees, paper, and subject matter
This book could easily be less pages and have a more worthwhile and usefull result. The brunt of it is in the middle of the book surrounded by a lot of superflureous and gratuitous chapters that really need not be in the book at all; and seem to be more of the author's personal interest. If you like Pyramids, Atlantis, Bermuda Triangle, Edgar Cayce...thats fine but these...

This review is from: The Mystical Crystal: Expanding Your Crystal Consciousness (Paperback)
This book could easily be less pages and have a more worthwhile and usefull result. The brunt of it is in the middle of the book surrounded by a lot of superflureous and gratuitous chapters that really need not be in the book at all; and seem to be more of the author's personal interest. If you like Pyramids, Atlantis, Bermuda Triangle, Edgar Cayce...thats fine but these by way of this author have nothing to do with the book and little connection to crystals in this book. The "Mystical" is a sell in the title and all the other stuff is FILLER; an old and obvious still reader catching technique. The real part of the book is in the middle book and basically concentrates on using clear quartz single terminated crystals in mostly circular or geometrical pattern layouts around the subject or client...with the healer or acting individual using a generator clear quartz. The mention of other crystals and stones in the beginning of the book is a tease..lead on..to make you thing the book is really about something (other than what it is). Other stones or crystals really have nothing to do with the layouts. Also the author is way over the top and a bit exhibitionist with the "client" he uses. For one thing NO client is REQUIRED to be totally disrobed. The author makes this inference more than once written and pictorally. BEWARE anyone who insists on this .. especially if they practice out of their own home. Even doctors and hospitals these days can be quite slack when it comes to patient physical respect and privacy. Clients should know that if they don't speak up they won't be heard. Also the reputation and the liablitly of the practitioner is on the line as well..discretion is an utmost. Funny, there was certainly not a male demonstator in any of the photo examples with a buxum crotch in underwear in a close-up or his whole body exposed one way or other. Nor was there a middle aged woman not fit and trim but real. No those two images wouldn't do...which perhaps may be another part of the "sell" for this book. This is about healing not soft-porn. There has got to be care and respect to be given to the clients body..a simple small towel over "personal or private" areas will do in general or at appropriate times..like when you are not working with that area of the body. There are lots of lite material clothing that can be worn as well for further comfort if desired. Totally or partial nudity can be a very particular request and situation for the most part. Its certainly not necessarily the "norm" or better, nor is it necessarily best, or hygenically helpful or appropriate. As almost always you can find some interesting tips and information you have not come across...far and few between with this book. The best part of the book is about what the book is really about... HEALING WITH CLEAR QUARTZ/GENERATOR QUARTZ LAYOUTS...which if not already in use, would be a good subtitle for this book in the right direction and less waste of reader time and spare change.

5.0 out of 5 stars A metaphysical initiation on Crystal Healing, October 19, 1999
This review is from: The Mystical Crystal: Expanding Your Crystal Consciousness (Paperback)
I found that The Mystical Crystal is a useful guide on crystal therapy techniques. It changed my way of approaching to illnesses and emotional unbalances, through a more assertive and "light" options to cope with the needs of mind and body. I am transcribing bellow the note of the his renowned publisher on metaphysical matters, which is found on the back cover of the book.

"Awareness of interest in the therapeutic properties of crystals have grown enormously in the last few years, as users have discovered the wide range of their beneficial effects.

In The Mystical Crystal, Geoffrey Keite sets out, in sample language, the many applications of crystal therapy, healing and techniques.

From his experience as founder of The Crystal Research Foundation, and director of Crystal 2000, he is able to explain electro crystal therapy, and to detail healing methods, massage and relaxation. Of particular interest are the origins of crystal therapy and its applications to yoga and chakras (personal energy centers).

With none of the obscurity which so often accompanies works on crystal healing, this book will be of immediate interest and benefit to New Age discoverers, and all concerned with balanced natural therapy and alternative techniques for a healthy self. It contains a wealth of experience and advice, based upon the author's long involvement with crystal therapy and refined into direct application."

2.0 out of 5 stars Basic, with some lackluster information, July 13, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Mystical Crystal: Expanding Your Crystal Consciousness (Paperback)
This guide is overly simplistic, although it tries to be comprehensive. In an attempt to achieve the fulfillment of a unique niche, Keyte's book incorporates several topics which are only loosely connected, if at all, to the general direction of the work.

It does, however, provide a large list of resources as an appendix, although it is limited to mostly the United Kingdom.
