I've read all sorts of paranormal romances over the years and many that blend the different paranormal creatures in one world, but nothing quite like this before. Faith is drawn to the owner of the club where she works behind the bar part time while she studies for a Ph.D. in anthropology. The enigmatic club owner, Horace, can't get Faith off his mind, either, but he knows he must keep his distance from women, although he can't remember why. But the attraction between them is too great for either to resist and Faith finds herself right in the middle of a strange paranormal world she didn't know existed with a group of beings that look human but aren't called the Protectors. As Faith and Horace work out their relationship they must fend off a killer and try to discover why Horace has lost some of his memories. The story takes us from the streets of Chicago to the jungles of Bolivia. A well thought out and interesting paranormal tale that blends Inca mythology, faeries and powerful supernatural beings of the authors own creation. Very enjoyable!

There's nothing slow here. I've never read Dorothy McFalls but I have to say after reading Mystical Seduction she's going to the top of my to read list. The heat between Horace and Faith in this powerful romantic suspense is amazing making this unique supernatural plot a real page turner.

I thoroughly enjoyed the way the author blended elements of the real world present-day, with the characters' other-world powers. The characters were each given prominent roles which didn't over power each other but, worked well and led to a nearly seamless story. There is a lot left to tell of Horace's story which, I hope the author will develop in the future. It would be nice to read, individually, the Protectors' stories - especially Stone - he seems intriguing. Overall a very entertaining read!

Award-winning author Dorothy McFalls was born in New York but raised in South Carolina. She makes her home on an artsy beach community in South Carolina with her husband, two dogs, and fluffy cat. Though writing has always been a passion for her, she pursued an undergraduate degree in Wildlife Biology and a graduate degree in Public Administration and Urban Planning. She then put her educational experience to use, having worked in all branches and all levels of government including local, regional, state, and federal. She even spent time during college working for a non-profit environmental watchdog organization.

Switching from government service and community planning to fiction writing wasn't as big of a change as some might think. Her government work was all about the stories of the people and the places where they live. As an urban planner, Dorothy loved telling the stories of the people she met. And from that, her desire to tell the stories that were so alive in her heart grew until she could not ignore it any longer. In 2001, she took a leap of faith and pursued her dream of writing fiction full-time.
