A dense read, but with enlightening results,

This is a dense read -- Gilson is not an easy writer, and the translation can be stiff. But Bernard transcends it all -- here is the man who prefigured John of the Cross and Teresa of Avila, the man who gave us the Cistercians and Thomas Merton. Highly recommended for insight into that wondrous thing called Christian mysticism.
