Editorial Reviews

Review

5,000 years ago the Yellow Emperor sought out achieved masters to receive their mystical instruction; 3,000 years prior, I Ching instruction was passed down orally. Thus for 8,000 years, mystical knowledge has been passed down from he Taoist sages to Master Ni, Hua Ching. Mysticism presents another kind of knowledge that does not use senses or machines: omniscience. People generally accumulate knowledge by way of study and experience through their limited sensory capabilities and technological devices. However, these fail to detect that which is too big, like the universe, or that which is too small, like spiritual being. Through spiritual development, both the entirety of the universe and the spirits can be known. Mysticism: Empowering The Spirit Within is an invaluable addition to the reading list for any seeking of an inner wisdom. -- Midwest Book Review

5.0 out of 5 stars Life sustaining knowledge, July 7, 2006
By
This review is from: Mysticism (Perfect Paperback)
I take issue with the other reviewer who rated all NiHuaChing's books (and Master Ni) negatively. Let this person share his wondrous credentials. The person obviously has a personal grudge and I would be very careful and read at least one of NiHuaChing's books in order to properly JUDGE FOR YOURSELF. I met NiHuaChing several times in the late 70's, knew some of his students, and found Master Ni to be sincere in his desire to share knowledge which has been passed down from antiquity. His students learn everything from tai chi tailored to the seasons to herbology and Chinese medicine. In my opinion, Master Ni's books can be helful by themselves, or as supplements to your own studies and classes. He speaks plainly and never condescends. I have read several of his books and have found them to be quite steady and on the mark.

5.0 out of 5 stars For the Mystical you, June 13, 2003
This review is from: Mysticism (Perfect Paperback)
this was really tough for me to comprehend and for that i accept it as something i will study and continue to build with. The simple fact that a symbol can teach you tells me that there is so much wisdom available all around us each day that if we stopped to take a look around, we would be overwhelmed by the enormous beauty in everyday life consistently teaching us more and more about ourselves. Approach this book as if its in another language, it is truly more than a mouthful, but taking your time, bite by bite, you will pick up on the mysticism within.
