Book Description

In an uncertain time in the future, Kaya More uses her gift of second sight to lead LUPO - the Let Us Play Organization - a group of rebels as they fight the unjust laws that ban rock and roll music. In the United States their opponent is Judah Arnold and the People Against Rock and Roll, otherwise known as PARR.

Some of LUPO’s members are descendants of a legendary rock band that were the last to oppose PARR on the fateful night that rock music was wiped out. The band, MYSTIQUE, disappeared, never to be heard from or seen again. Such was the fate of many rock musicians.

As the rebels race from the streets of New York City to the tops of the Canadian Rockies to the beaches of the California they find adventure, music and love. Yet the story doesn’t really explode until the rest of the world takes a stand and joins in the struggle.

5.0 out of 5 stars A revolution in the making June 11, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Years later, nobody knows how long, the whole world is under domination by their Governments and our freedom of choice is taken away. The ones who dared to oppose are driven underground and there is a constant battle between the rebels and the Government agency PARR, who are responsible for upholding these new ideals. Through censorship, the people no longer have control of what kind of music they listen to or the books they read. It is a Totalitarian Government where they make u believe what they want you to, alter the course of history to suit their needs and slip mind control drugs to the population.

Although the rebel forces, who call themselves LUPO, were doing their part, staying in the shadows, for years, the rebellion sparks into a revolution when the next generation of rebels joins the force with Kaya More, the daughter of one of the original founders of LUPO, as their new leader.

We are taken through a journey; we witness the start of a revolution, the path it takes when the whole world joins in and the final stand which will decide the fate of the whole world. Kaya More is the chosen one and she guides LUPO with her paranormal abilities to sense the future. She meets Boyce Mitchell and the sexual tension is apparent from the very beginning and there is the start of a beautiful romance. We feel part of the revolution, fighting besides Kaya, as we are drawn in by all their ideals and the struggle and at the end of the book, we feel like we just fought our way through a revolution, actually being part of all the daring escapades that Kaya leads LUPO through.

A Fantasy novel that engulfs you in its fast paced Action and it is sure to spark the rebel in you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Karen Magill always tells a great story!!! July 29, 2013

Follow your heart."

This story has to do with our civil rights. Our right to chose is something that should be a given. Maybe it is even a gift but it is the law and we deserve these rights. Censorship is just wrong!

I was drawn to this story not just because I am a lover of music but also because I believe in the constitution. This is a gripping story and the writing is clear and inviting. Miss Magill is a very talented writer and has a way of telling a story that takes it's reader on a heartfelt adventure from the beginning until the very last page.

"One thing I would like to point out immediately is that it isn't just the fact that rock and roll music has been eliminated which we object to. It is a question of our rights that we are fighting for. We don't feel that everyone has to listen to rock and roll. Just that everyone should have the opportunity to choose for him or herself."

5.0 out of 5 stars Realistic possibilities create a scary future May 28, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Ms. Magill's story creates the future of our world without music, more specifically, rock and roll because our government has decided what is and what isn't good for us. Kaya, the daughter of the lead singer of the group, Mystique, decides enough is enough and ventures out to rectify that. The journey she takes, the relationships she builds and the danger she encounters makes this a page turning, hard to put down, book. I completely enjoyed this tale and loved the creativity.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Banning of Rock and Roll October 8, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition
Well done. "Let us Play" was such an original and interesting story. Once I started it I didn't put it down until it was done.

In the story Rock and Roll has been outlawed. It was outlawed due to actions of a group called PARR, aka: People Against Rock and Roll. Shortly after the banning of Rock and Roll a new group is formed. This group is called LUPO, aka: Let Us Play Organization. Their goal is to bring back Rock and Roll. The bulk of the story takes place approximately 30 years after Rock and Roll was banned. It follows Kaya More, who is one of the leaders of LUPO. She is the daughter of one of the original members who helped created the group. The story follows her fight to bring back Rock and Roll and the freedom of choice.

The book has some paranormal elements, mainly second sight. It has a bit of romance but I wouldn't classify this as a romance. The focus of the story was on the battle against PARR and the effort to create a revolution. I thought the characters were well drawn and the story was easy to follow. All in all, I thought it was a good book with a very original story.
