Book Description

3 and upMyth-O-Mania
Heard the one about Hercules slaying a lion with his bare hands and making a cloak from its skin? That was no cloak-Hercules was wearing the lion. We`re talking Siegfried and Roy here! Sure, Hercules had great big muscles. But he had an itty-bitty brain. He couldn`t have done even one heroic deed if that lion hadn`t been there, telling him exactly what to do.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Real Hercules!, May 4, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Myth-O-Mania: Get to Work, Hercules! - Book #7 (Paperback)
"Get to Work, Hercules", by Kate McMullen, took place many centuries ago in the Ancient city of Thebes. The main characters are Hades who is the Ruler of the Underworld and Hercules, the strongest mortal alive. In the book there was a problem that lead up to many things. The problem was Hercules's mom, Princess Alcmene who was married to Zeus and then they got a divorce. Later on Zeus married another god, his sister Hera. Later on Princess Alcmene had a son.
Hera always hated Zeus's past wives and especially his sons. When Hades found out about this problem he knew he had to help his ex - sister in - law. He told Alcmene she could call her son Hercules, for the Latin word Hera. But that still didn't help. After a couple of years his mom told Hercules to go to his aunt's house. Hercules thought it would be an adventure because he isn't that smart. After he worked at the farm Hercules became very strong. When two people came to the farm and told Hercules to go to Greece Hercules wasn't so smart so he went. When he went there a king(His Cousin Eury) told him that if he did 12 impossible labors he would win Hera's respect. Will Hercules's compete all 12 labors? Will he survive all the labors? You'll only find out if you read "Get to Work, Hercules."
I think this book is so good you should buy it. Here are some reasons. In this book you learn about the Greek gods while having a lot of fun. Also you can picture so many things in your mind. Finally, this book will make you laugh so much because Hercules does some weird stuff. If I would rate this book on a scale to 1-10 I would rate it 10. The best part is there are 7 more books. I would recommend this book to 3 graders and up because it has some difficult words. This book makes for some interesting reading.

4.0 out of 5 stars Muscle Guy, September 14, 2003
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Myth-O-Mania: Get to Work, Hercules! - Book #7 (Paperback)
For the seventh time Hades is back with the hilarious truth. This time is the EXTREMELY well known myth of Hercules. Herc however isn't the intelligent muscle man we thought he was. He is an unintelligent muscle guy. How does he complete his labors? Read it to find out. This particular book guranteed to be liked.
