Great show, but not many episodes,

This review is from: Mythbusters: Collection 5 (DVD)
I love Mythbusters and own every collection. However, this collection has the least amount of episodes out of all of them. You receive 2 discs that have 5 episodes on each disc--obviously only 10 episodes. Compared to previous collections, this is almost nothing. The first collection you received 4 discs--and almost double the amount of episodes than with collection 5. Each collection has fewer and fewer episodes, which is very disappointing. Great show and the episodes in collection 5 are classic--I just wish they put more episodes in the collection.

The price for this dvd hovers around 15$. Buy this at target for 15$ and save the hassle of shipping and the up-and-down price. this dvd has these episodes: -Alaska Special, -Exploding Steak, -Blind Driving, -Return of the Ninja (AKA Ninjas 2),
-Alcohol myths, -Motorcycle Flip (My Favorite), -Coffin Punch, -End with a Bang, -Alaska special 2, and Banana Slip Double Dip. Great dvd but buy this at target. I love it and no flaws.

Great Show Greedy Marketing,

Mythbusters is a fantastic show. The show on its own gets a 5-Star in my opinion. On the other hand...
This dvd set contains very few episodes. Why don't they release this show in series anymore? The used versions of the series sell at inflated prices, so obviously that's the format that people would rather purchase. Why did they discontinue the season releases? I know this show doesn't follow a season format, but the Discovery Channel could release every 25 episodes in a box set and call it a season. Or they could package all the episodes that aired over the course of a calendar year and call that a season. I hate trying to collect an entire series when the releases are haphazard. My specific problem with Collection 5 is that, as other reviewers have pointed out, it offers less episodes than the previous Collection releases. I can't see any motivation for that since there are plenty of episodes waiting to be released except to stretch out the releases as thin as possible to sell us as many Collection sets and take more of our money for the same amount of product. It's a great, stimulating show-5 Stars. The marketing decisions get 1 Star. The average of the two = 3 Stars, hence my rating. Show good. Discovery Channel bad.
