You have succeeded in your intention-you captured the spirit,
By Jazz Club "R. Sanaa Kafele" (Compton, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: N.G.G.R. Please (Audio CD)
In the Indigenous People project, Marc Cary intention is to capture the spirit of our African people with the rich history of African diasporic music, from African folk melodies, Brazilian and Caribbean grooves to American jazz, funk and go-go rhythms and perpetuate their energy through our music. I hear the Herbie Hancock, early George Duke and Stanley Clark, Donald Byrd, Cannonball influences and the freshness of your sound. You take the listener on an enjoyable funky rhythmic journey. In my opinion, Marc Cary you have succeeded in you intention - you captured the spirit. Actually I feel that you and group are actually channeling the ancestors in certain tracks. I highly recommend this CD and actually all the previous Indigenous People projects and all of Marc Cary CDs.
Brotha Marc thank you for the music...looking forward to the next project.
