The Way of the Ninja

You are a ninja in N+. Your god-like speed, dexterity, jumping power, and reflexes are all the result of an amazingly fast metabolism; sadly, so is your natural lifespan of 1.5 minutes.

Like all Ninjas, you have an unquenchable thirst for gold and a natural propensity for exploring rooms infested by increasingly lethal Ninja-killing robots. N emphasizes pacifism, humility, and the need to traverse 5 rooms before the end of your lifetime; a feat known only as 'beating an episode'.

In accordance with the teachings of N, it is your profound hope that one day you will develop your platforming skills, intelligence, and inexplicable ability to reincarnate to achieve total mastery of all 300 levels.

N+

4.0 out of 5 stars N+ Game Boy Style Graphics But Quite Addicting! October 21, 2008
Platform for Display:Nintendo DS
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
N+ is a simple game with very basic 2D graphics, in no such manner does it utilize the full capibilities of the DS. So what makes it a neat game to have especially on a road trip?

Short to say that its simple. You don't have to really put too much effort in it. You just turn it on and play and if you do happen to turn your game off, you won't lose much.

There are 250 stages all together, each Episode has 5 levels, and there are 50 episodes all together. Multiply that out and you get 250, excluding online play which has about 100 more. Saves happen after the completion of each episode and after so many episodes, more episodes are unlocked. No use of the sylus whatsoever.

You are basically a stick figure running through multiple obsticles. In each stage there is a beacon you must reach in order to open up a door. Playing each level just to pass it is one thing, but playing it to obtain every single gold piece is a whole nother thing (even though its impossible to collect them all because there are at least two places that its not possible to get it because its suicide). Gold pieces give you a challenge, but also help you unlock things. Not completely necessary things such as new character colors, etc, but they're still something. You can also pass levels to unlock it as well, hence the unnecessary part.

Its a good game to pick up and play really fast like tetris or one of those classic arcade games. Simple, yet fun.

There are some very challenging levels, but overall MOST of the levels are not too incredibly hard unless you want to collect all the gold pieces, which makes each level a lot harder.

Good graphics? Heck no. Awesome music collection? *Whistles and walks away*.

5.0 out of 5 stars SO Fun! AND SO ADDICTING! June 8, 2009
Platform for Display:Nintendo DS
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Seriously Buy this game now. Look how Cheap it is. Don't waist time reading this review. I Guarantee it will be poorly written and not even thought out.

O.k. I Bet you noticed that this game is made by Atari. Maybe thats not a selling point. I Also Bet you noticed that you will be controlling a stick figure running around and blowing up in Various ways. That was my selling point but I understand why it may not be yours. I'm Going to try to keep it short. Once you grasp all the moves(Pretty simple) You won't want to put this game down. Simply addicting and worth the price. Unless you are reading this 7 years from now when the DS is Defunct. But Hey I don't expect the value to go up after production stops on this game. If it does then you can give me a Non-Helpful. You can also give me a non-helpful because I said I'd keep this review short and failed to do so. Also if you are a Meanie.
Thanks! :)

P.S. Buy this Game

P.S. I told you it wouldn't be well thought out.

P.s. Please give me a Helpful.

5.0 out of 5 stars A pure blast October 6, 2008
Platform for Display:Nintendo DS
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Originally a downloadable PC game entitled N, N+ is a pure blast. Making its way to the DS, N+ puts you in the shoes of a ninja, and you try to avoid all sorts of deadly traps and hazards. This may sound like it will get old quickly, but it doesn't, and N+ ends up proving to be incredibly fun. There are hundreds of challenges to endure, and the platforming-based puzzles are insanely fun and addictive. The game is easy to pick up and play as well, and it can get very, very challenging as you progress through the game. The controls are tight as well, and being able to download new content via the Wi-Fi connection is a nice plus as well. The game looks good and plays great, with the only real flaw of N+ being that there is no touch-screen support. This is only a minor gripe as using the DS' face buttons works perfectly fine, but it would have been a nice plus if some sort of touch-screen capability was included. That aside, N+ is a pure blast, and if you've played the original game and own a DS, this is definitely more than worth picking up.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun Puzzle/Platformer September 9, 2009
Platform for Display:Nintendo DS
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
If you're looking for a game you can just pick up and play at any time, N+ has simple game play, and only uses the directional pad and one button. The game's level designs, however, are creative enough to make up for these simplicities.

If you've played the original N (free to download online) then you might be a bit disappointed. N+ has 50 "episodes" with 5 levels each (so 250 levels) vs the original game's 500 levels. Nearly all of the levels of N+ are new, however, they tend to be a lot easier. I was able to beat each level usually in only 7 or 8 tries, and about 15 tries at most for the more difficult levels. There are added challenges (collecting all the gold) which can seem a bit impossible in some of the later levels.

I have not been able to try the multiplayer (no one else I know has this game) nor have I been able to get downloadable content. I believe user-made maps can be downloaded online, and if this is the case, the replayability of N+ is increased 10-fold.

All in all, this game is usually pretty cheap in most places (considering other DS titles hover between 30 and 45 dollars) so it's definitely worth an add if you've either played the original, or love 2D platformers. If you're still not sure, look up some videos of the game (on youtube), and decide whether it looks right for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great game, though it can make you a little frustrated.
I loved playing N on the computer, and am now able to play it on my DS. Like I mentioned before, it can make you a little mad, but it's still a fun game. :)
