5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Debut Album!!, August 25, 2002

This is, hands down, one of the best smooth jazz debut albums I have heard in ages. These fellas from Portland, OR are a class act all the way. Their opening song "N-Touch" gives every member of the group a chance to shine. The vocals on "Time Will Tell" add a dimension to this album that most smooth jazz artists are unable to match. The Latin rhythms on "Hasta Luego" are outstanding segueing into the funky, upbeat "Sweet Potato Pie." My absolute favorite cut on this album though has to be the closing track, "Coming Home." It wraps you in its arms and caresses you with its mellowness. It feels like a bowl of hot soup on a winter day or a soak in a hot tub after a long day at work. Everything about this album is a pleasure to hear. I predict this is the first of many cd's from this amazing group. Jump on the bandwagon now. Don't be left behind.

5.0 out of 5 stars N-Touch hits the Mark!, April 9, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: N' Touch (Audio CD)
This album is great! A must have for contemporary jazz lovers. N-Touch comes out on all cylinders from the start of this album with the title track N-Touch, which is reminiscent of early Jeff Lorber work. The latin flavored cut, Hasta Luego, features beautiful solo work from drummer Anthony Jones and percussionist Bruce Smith, of Pleasure fame! And, I loved the interplay between saxophonist Eldon T Jones and guitarist David Allen on fusionesque Rush Hour. This song reminded me a bit of Spyro Gyra...The Bossa Nova, percussion filled ballad, Passages, really shows the great versatility of this group...and finally, I truly loved the gospel influenced song Coming Home, which displayed the heart felt sax of Jones...reminscent of a young Grover Washington or Kirk Whalum. Based on this debut CD, the best is yet to come for this group!! I strongly recommend this CD to all jazz lovers out there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Touch!!, December 5, 2002

I heard about this group from a listener who e-mailed me and thought I should check this group out. I'm glad I did because this jazz group is hot!! N-Touch is based out of Portland, Oregon and have been very popular in their region. The debut CD is chock full of awesome rhythms and beats. The title track is incredible as it reminds me of something out a Crusaders album. Much of the album has a mixture of not only Smooth Jazz, but Latin & Gospel as well. It's a refreshing difference to hear in a recording such as N-Touch. Very original!! I see bigger and better down the road for this group. Buy it and enjoy!!
