The KARE N5403JV Wireless/Wired Network IP cameras features in free DDNS,
MSN host, pan/tilt function, night vision ability, remote internet viewing,
motion detect as well as email alert via email or upload image to ftp. This KARE
N5402JV is compatible with Linux/Win98/Win7/Win2000/Win XP/Vista/MAC OS and all
standard browsers (IE8,Firefox,Chrome,Safari etc.) to suffice your different
preferences on operating systems and browsers( no sound under Firefox ). This
device has very appropriate dimensions for indoor installation. It has all the
main features that many other IP cameras have and also have the features many
other cameras don't have (free DDNS, MSN host). Both the high-performance and
decent price contribute to your wise purchase.
Main Features Introduction:
Free DDNS
Manufacturer has set up a server in local US and gave this benefit to buyers.
Each camera comes with "DDNS" attached on a label at the bottom of camera. There
is no need for you to register a new one, it especially gives much convenience
for those people who don't know how to get a "DDNS". You can enter the "DDNS" to
PC software or APP of Smartphones to convenient viewing.
MSN Host
This device can enable you log in multiple MSN accounts on it. Once you add
an idle MSN in the camera (you are also supposed to add it to your own MSN
list), just send a "request message" to the idle MSN, you will be responded with
the view link. The purpose of this feature is mainly for you to easily get
access to the camera without any thinking. It's also a great idea to share the
idle MSN with your families who don't know much about network knowledge.
Motion Detect and Email Alert
It's impossible to view the camera all the time, let motion detect function help
you. Whenever there is a move, it snapshots images and upload to your email or
FTP, Record video on your local PC

Con:
1. Haven't/Unable to get sound/voice working. Supposely can be done in IE.
2. Haven't/Unable to find much help or documentation or support anywhere.
Pro:
1. Setup was relatively easy. Working in IT field helps I guess. Following the instruction and got almost everything working in about 2 hours. Including email upon motion-dectetion alarm. (However, haven't figured out sensitive level meaning and therefore unable to get very meaning email with snapshots)
2. It has a lot of functions that I haven't figured out using. (lacking user manual doesn't help)
Picture quality is ok for the price. Don't expect to see that birthmark on that thief.
Hopefully the company will improve its website, improve the firmware, create a help page/manual to better explain the device and instructions to fully utilitized it.

Bought this because of the wireless feature. Unfortunately, the installation instructions are unintelligible and clearly written by a non-English speaker. There is no support at the website and no number to call. I never could get my router to recognize this camera. Don't waste your money on this.

This is more of an IP Camera then most will want or need. Well made, great lens and pictures. Wish it had zoom but for this price it has enough. It is all there in the CD Install on what is available and how to do it. I needed a piano wire to augment the weight vs the holder. Just a precaution to keep it level. I am very impressed by all it has. Can even watch on my Android Tablet.
