Analog music lovers will be happy to know the perfect replacement exists for the stylus on the exquisite M97xEstereo cartridge from Shure. Shure continues to be the leader in high performance, affordable moving-magnet phono cartridges. The sound is rich, clean, and full-bodied, with ample stereo separation and the ability to track even difficult to play records. The N97xE insures that this wonderful cartridge will continue to perform its labor of love for years to come. If you own this cartridge, make "shure" you have a spare stylus on hand.

The stylus in my Shure/Radioshack RXT5 is getting long-in-the-tooth and I was

concerned about finding a proper replacement. A little research online showed

that stylii for the RXT5 and Shure M97eX are interchangeable. I am very relieved

that such a high quality instrument is available at what I consider a very

reasonable price. Now I can rest assured that my collection of LP records, some

of which I have had for more than 50 years, will suffer no damage from a worn stylus.

this is one fine needle,i have alarge record collation, and i am a bit of audiophile and i will say you wont get better for the money.the highs are clear and sharp,and the lows deep and warm... and the tracking is vary good it handles those inner tracks with no problem.i give it thumbs up...

I originally bought the M97xE cartridge almost three years ago as a replacement to a Shure Mark IV needle that met its demise. I searched for a while and the best price found was $90. To be able to by this needle at the price Amazon is selling it for may perhaps speak to small manufacturing changes (upon examining both, the new cartridge seems to have a little less heft and the brush mechanism seems a little less solid), but stepping up from the plethora $30 stylus option, this seems an obvious winner.

I purchased the Shure M97xE cartridge a few years ago for my Technics SL1200MkII and was amazed by the clarity and musical quality provided by such an inexpensive cartridge. While moving about a month ago the needle on my cartridge bent in half however and I was out of commission until finding this replacement stylus. Perfect fit and perfect sound. I could not be happier with this product.

My hobby is to take the old country music vinyl from the 1960's through 1980's and transfer the music to my MacBook Pro. I Then clean the clicks and crackles and platter noise from the recording, and produce a pristine CD of the classic country albums which are not available on CD. In order to start out with a true representation of the music that is being recorded off of the vinyl albums, I chose the Shure M97xE Cartridge for my turntable. I ordered a replacement cartridge just in case my original wears out. The Shure M97xE cartridge and stylus are undoubtedly the best on the market for producing the clearest, cleanest possible sound from priceless vinyl albums.

Shure audiophile products have set the standard for years. I used my first Shure back in '70 and still continue to use them. I'm using an Audio Technica professional direct drive turntable with usb to transfer vinyl to mp3 and burn them to disk. Shure captures the original warmth and subtleties of the records.

This is the best available reasonably priced cartridge going. Nothing else to say but it sounds great.

This is an awesome cartridge for serious fans of records. We love it. It arrived quickly and in perfect condition.
