5.0 out of 5 stars for those with only 2 ears, April 17, 2010

This review is from: NAD C315BEE Integrated Amplifier (Electronics)
This is my 3rd or 4th NAD amplifier. Had to leave my last one behind in China because it was 220V only. Made do with mini-systems for awhile but decided I needed to get this while there was still a good stereo amplifier to buy. In case you have not noticed, the stereo market has gone uphill--audiophile only, almost. Cheap systems are now who-knows-how-many channels. Amazing how people will trade 2 good amplifiers for 7 cheap ones, crowded together in the same size box. Well, in case you have forgot (or never knew), this is what stereo sounds like (that is all those of us with 2 ears can hear). It provides effortless power for Epos 22 floorstanders. Though it is rated at only 40W/channel, that is into 8 ohms, and this amp is OK for 4 ohm speakers. Plus the 315 provides about 16 decibels of headroom into 8 ohms, so transients in acoustic instrument music should be no problem. I use the NAD entirely for classical music. I cannot 'hear' it, in fact I never even notice it except for its clean looks and 2 small blue lights. The small remote handles all the functions. There is a bonus in the current 315 that I do not remember from the old days: a 3.5mm stereo input on the fascia. Now if only your ipod had a line-level output...
