5.0 out of 5 stars Nad's works!
I've been using Nad's Hair Removal Gel for several years on my face, underarms, and legs. Your hair does have to be a certain length for it to work, but that is true of all wax products. The best thing about Nad's is that it does not have to be heated, so there is no danger of burning yourself with wax that is too hot - it heats using your own body heat. The amount of...

2.0 out of 5 stars Ouch!
Ads say that this is not supposed to hurt but it does! Not as badly as waxing but still...... Does not get all the hair even after several sweeps. Leaves a sticky residue and is a pain to apply. I say skip it and have a professional wax you or stick to shaving. This is definitely not worth the money I paid!

The amount of hair I have has lessened over the years, and with regular use, there is no pain to waxing, and it lasts for weeks. I hope this product stays on the market. I cannot afford to have waxing done professionally. It is so much easier and less expensive to be able to wax in the privacy of your own home.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Hair Removal Wax/Gel Out There, March 31, 2009

I have read some of the comments made by others who have left low ratings and , so here are some waxing basics to follow if you want Nad's or any other waxing product to work correctly:

1. Waxing is generally painful. You are ripping the hair out by its root. There's really no way around that one. You will eventually get used to it, and the faster you can pull the strip, the less pain you will have.

2. Prep your skin correctly. Wash the area with plain soap and luke warm water (no moisturizing soaps etc.) Thoroughly dry the skin, and dust with a light layer of baby powder.

3. Heat the gel. I know it's supposed to be a no heat get, but if you heat it up for a bit (not till it's boiling or runny like water!) then you can apply a lighter layer of wax. When waxing, you want the thinnest layer of wax applied over the hair in the direction of hair growth.

4. Use linen/cloth strips. The plastic ones don't work as well. In one quick motion, pull the strip up and out in the opposite direction of hair growth.

Also, keep in mind that hair must be at least 4/5mm long before you can wax. Thick/coarse hair may need to be longer, more than 5mm long, before you can wax it off.

5. Rinse off first with lukewarm water, and then cold water to help your pores close. If you are prone to little red bumps after waxing, apply a bacitracin antibacterial ointment, then follow with a non-comedogenic lotion like Aveeno.

I have used many, many brands of wax and none of them are as effective in removing hair as the original Nad's. Sally Hansen also has a good gel, but the kits are smaller, have less prep items in them, and cost more. Happy waxing!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Product for Hair Removal, March 27, 2010

I am DONE with shaving my legs, underarms, and bikini area -- the inevitable cuts, stubble, and irritated skin are too much to deal with. I had let my leg hair grow over the winter because shaving dry skin makes the problems even worse. I had planned to go in for a wax, but it's way too expensive. Depilatories such as Nair do not work for me. I remembered the old TV commercial for Nads and decided to give it a try even after reading many mixed reviews online.

I was astounded at how well Nads worked on all three areas. I felt no pain using it on my legs or underarms -- it just felt like removing a Band-Aid. The bikini area was a different story. It hurt like hell. The skin on my upper inner thighs is "jiggly," so it was impossible to hold it completely taut while pulling the Nads strips. I also experienced some bruising there, but it went away in a few days. Nevertheless, Nads removed the hair in all three areas like a dream, and there's no sign of it coming back 2 weeks later.

The basic Nads kit is a little pricey but significantly cheaper than professional waxing, and you don't need to apply much. Plus, you can reuse the strips once the gel is on them -- just fold the strip in half with the gel inside and then pull apart to reactivate the adhesive properties. I found I could reuse the same strip with gel 3 or 4 times. I also found that heating the gel in the microwave for 15 seconds greatly improved its spreadability. I should be able to get 5 applications out of this one jar. That's only $4.00 a pop.

Cleanup is a breeze as the gel is water-soluble. Just use a wet washcloth to remove residual gel from your skin and rinse the strips with warm water. Once the strips are dry, they are ready to be used again. This is the most impressive product I've come across in a long time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, February 20, 2008
This review is from: NADS Hair Removal Gel Kit (Quantity:2) (Health and Beauty)
I have been using hair removal waxes and gels for over 15 years. Nads is one of my favorite products although it is a bit pricey. It is easy to apply and easy to remove. It smells great and re-usable strips are definitely a big plus. If you are not too squirmish to wax your own legs or arms, I strongly recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Temperature sensitive, June 23, 2008
This review is from: NADS Hair Removal Gel Kit (Quantity:2) (Health and Beauty)
I used to use this all the time and it worked pretty well. You do have to pluck a bit after "nads-ing" to get the stray hairs it misses. One problem I had was that it was very temperature sensitive. If it got too cold it wouldn't work because the goo was too thick to spread on your legs. On the other hand, if it's too hot out, the goo will spread too thin to get the hairs. So, be warned. I gave up on it 'cause it took too long and I am impatient. But it did keep hair away MUCH longer than shaving and the hair growing back in does start to thin out with repeated use.

1.0 out of 5 stars can't rate zero, June 5, 2008
This review is from: NADS Hair Removal Gel Kit (Quantity:2) (Health and Beauty)
hurts... and not a little hurt, and of course it leaves some of the most attractive little red HOLES in your legs. doesn't pull all the hair out just the hairs it wants to, and as for "reusing a strip" bull.... sure you can reuse it but it's not gonna do you anygood. save yourself money... and tears... and buy a razor.

This is a product I have used for years. It works great for me. I use it for bikini waxes and I have very sensitive pale skin and have not had issues. I still warm it for 10-15 seconds even though it says you don't need to. It goes on better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than shaving/nair, January 31, 2009
By
This review is from: NADS Hair Removal Gel Kit (Quantity:2) (Health and Beauty)
I have very long legs and very sensitive skin. I hate shaving because it takes to much time in the shower and I always cut myself. All the nair like products that basicaly burn your hair off make my skin really irritated and I develope a painful rash because you can never wash off all the chemical residue.
Nads is a great alternitive to other hair removal methods, altough it does take some practice to get it right. It takes me maybe 15 min to do both legs and clean up, rinsing the strips etc. You have to apply the gel SUPER THIN (the thiner the better) to get the best results. I know it seems a bit backwards but the thinner you make the gel the more hair it can remove. My legs stay smooth and stubble free for at least 2 weeks and I dont have the annoyance of razorburn and I get far fewer ingrown hairs. Love this stuff, it really works. :*)
