ok but you could do better,
This review is from: NADY PS-115 ProPower Series 500 Watt Portable PA Speaker (Electronics)
I bought a pair of these when I started out as a DJ. They look ok and were adequate for the small gigs I was playing and are relatively light in weight. They still work 3 years later so I got my money's worth - one of the banana plugs somehow managed to work loose and drop inside the cabinet, but I usually run them off 1/4 inch plugs anyway. In retrospect, I have to say that I wish I'd bought a used pair of Peaveys instead mainly because of the huge difference in efficiency. You can't just go off the wattage when you buy speakers -- these speakers are 500 watts PEAK btw -- not Program so they are really more like 250 watt speakers in terms of power.

I have used 2 of these speakers for several years for a monthly church dance. We just moved to a full sized basketball gym. I was planning on getting a couple of expensive speakers and a more powerful mixer.Tonight (first dance in the new gym) the Nady's handled the big gym just fine. We were never up over 1/2 power. We had them up high on stands on the stage. They sounded fine and were plenty loud. We do not play hip hop or rap but they handled AC/DC well and also contemporary dance songs. If you do not abuse these they will serve you well. They will not distort if you do not clip the amp or over power them. They will sound good if you dial in the EQ. I have used them for about 6 years. They are still going strong and I more than got my $180 investment out of them. They probably will not sustain the abuse that a Peavey can but they are serviceable if you treat them right. If you blow them up you can replace the speaker with a scorpion or black widow and replace the piezo with a threaded XR22. I am not sure how many watts the cross over will actually handle but I suspect the efficiency of these speakers is understated and I also suspect the cross over will handle more the 250 Watts continuous. They are a good deal for anyone who needs a cheap set of speakers, as long as you do not turn them all the way up or clip the amp.
