3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad
I bought two of these bottles in pink with white lettering and after using them for one month the writing is rubbing off of the sides. I went back with a sharpie and re-wrote the measurements as I'm using them for milk for my daughter at daycare. Other than that they are great bottles!

5.0 out of 5 stars The incredible, unbreakable, unmistakable umm... bottle, May 16, 2010
You can't go wrong with this. When I was in college, my roommate and I decided to test the structural integrity of a Nalgene. We were, for reasons which I cannot fully reconstruct, irritated at the structural perfection of the thing. Didn't matter what one did to it, it would not break. We were tired of having our flaws and inadequacies sneered at by this inanimate plastic thing, so perfect at it's job, so faithful, so unpossessed of anything even approaching a flaw. Nothing, we reasoned, has any business being perfect. So, we chucked my full Nalgene out of a third-floor window. It landed on concrete with a terrific SMACK!, which startled the hell out of this annoying girl who just happened to be standing close by, and bounced about five feet in the air before coming to rest, entirely unscathed. People seemed shocked, but we were not even a bit surprised. This thing is so solid, it's really kind of incredible. Like Chase Utley, the Godfather, the Hope diamond, Abbey Road, the chicken nugget, I cannot imagine an improvement. It's just so... perfect. If you're not totally thrilled with one of these, I don't know what to tell you. It's just that good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great water bottle for everyday use, just like it's called, September 7, 2008
I've been using this a few weeks so far, and it seems very sturdy. I attach it to my bag with a carabiner and have seen no signs of breakage while hiking with the bottle. I love that the bottle doesn't leak, and it's a BPA-free product (good for me, good for the environment). Plus, I have not noticed any unusual smell/taste while drinking from the bottle (unlike most reusable plastic bottles), but I have not tried hot beverages in it yet. The wide-mouth IS very convenient for ice cubes and cleaning. Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE 'em!, August 6, 2008
I love my Nalgene! I have never put hot liquids in mine, but I love that it's easy to put lots of ice in it, and with the little sipper accessory you can buy it's fantastic b/c the 'ice dam' never breaks & you can drink it while you're driving and not worry about getting wet. I've had mine for 2 years now & still using the same 1! I have a spare, just incase this one breaks or gets lost. I find them VERY sturdy b/c I've droped mine a bunch of times & it's never cracked. It's fallen off the top of the car, out of the car, my 4 year old has dropped it. I think it's virtually indestructable. My sister has the Sigg bottle & it's dented in several areas (whatcha expect from alumunm?) Anyway I like my Nalgene better than her Sigg, and mine was less than 1/2 the price of hers!

4.0 out of 5 stars Just as Good BPA Free, September 24, 2008

I've used Nalgene brand water bottles for about 10 years now and I've never had any complaints. The bottles are sturdy (I sure have dropped mine a lot!) and they are easy to clean in the dishwasher. However, I was recently concerned when the potential dangers of BPA were discussed in the news. I had decided to replace my trusty Nalgene with a stainless steel bottle when I saw that Nalgene now made a BPA-free bottle.

The BPA version is just like the old Nalgene, but safer. No complaints other than the fact that all of the different sizes and shapes of bottles that Nalgene used to offer are not available in the BPA-free versions. I'm sure they're coming--but this bottle will do for now.

4.0 out of 5 stars Meets my Expectations, September 29, 2009
I love my nalgene for these reasons:

-Easy to clean
-Holds a ton of ice
-Freezable / Microwaveable
-Recyclable
-Made in the USA
-Almost indestructible.

What else would I need in a water bottle? I guess if you wanted it to fit in a car cupholder, get one of the smaller models. I just throw it on the passenger seat and love that the bottle holds a liter of water.

4.0 out of 5 stars 16oz size does not fit the Guyot Tapguard, April 1, 2010

I figured the description 'wide mouth' in both products would mean the tapguard would fit in the 16oz bottle. Nope. Otherwise, it's a great bottle, really convenient size (a little larger than a soda can, fits in the Built NY thirsty tote easily). I measured the mouth of this bottle 45mm from top edge to top edge, and the tapguard needs 63mm.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great nalgene bottle, December 6, 2008

This nalgene bottle is great. I wanted one that was BPA free. It's everything that the product description was. Durable, easy to clean, does not absorb odors. I use it every day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nalgene bottles rock!, September 10, 2009

I've been using Nalgene bottles for about 5 yrs now. These are my first BPA-free ones. I drink filtered water (no chlorine) from my bottles and sometimes my old ones got smelly (a faint scent of mold) if I left them out/ someplace warm overnight. I don't know if it's because they're BPA-free now but I've occasionally left my new bottles out overnight and neither of them got stinky(!) Also, I have individual bottle coolers (from Eastern Mountain Sports) so they're always cold. Lastly, I'd recommend the wide-mouth with a splash guard Nalgene Easy Sipperover the narrow-mouth bottle- water in the neck of the narrow-mouth freezes before the rest of it. That's it. Happy drinking to you!

4.0 out of 5 stars Yay for dishwasher safe!, December 4, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I love that this is dishwasher-safe, and keeps its color after many washes and uses. The lid has a keeper, so it doesn't get lost--in the dishwasher or any where else. If you intend to use it while in motion, I would strongly recommend some sort of sipper-stop, because "wide mouth" is a true statement. Thank goodness I was only drinking water....
