This bottle is a great option if you're looking for something that is:
- BPA-Free
- Relatively indestructible (scratches kind of easily but never shatters)
- Large capacity
Be careful, however, not to place it on the bottom rack of the dishwasher because you can melt the cap, which will make the bottle leak. As a side note, it's difficult to find replacement caps for the narrow mouth b/c they're not as popular as the wide mouth caps. The plus of the narrow mouth is that you don't spill on yourself when you drink out of it. The con is that it's difficult to fit stuff in the bottle like ice or lemon.

I'm one of those who continue to reuse the disposable water bottles until the wife throws them away. Using filtered tap water(Pur filter)with this bottle gives excellent results, great tasting water. I need a large bottle for the gym and this one does the job. Due to it's shape it is pretty compact for its volume so it is not a chore lugging it around. Its a thick plastic so it does minimal job of insulating, much more so than the disposable bottles.

I like my gray and green bottle. It holds just enough water to hold me for the day. I still have not put it in my car but does not matter if it fits in my cup holder. The mouth is wide enogh for me.

Great bottle: light-weight when empty, very charming (transparency and color), narrow mouth suits perfectly to the human mouth and the price is so reasonable for a multi-use and multi-purpose container. A lot of people in the gym liked this bottle so much and many times I've been asked where I bought it along with what its brand is. The 5th star is missing because the first time I washed it -by hand- some part of the logo tore off and the remaining is easily tearable. The mono-color measure prints on the back, on the other hand, seem durable because the technique they were printed differs from that on the front. Anyway without omitting the warning about the print issue I would definitely recommend this product to anybody interested in buying a handsome portable light-weight bottle. I'm happy to consume less plastic bottles and paper cups now. Please make your choice on BPA-free reusable products as much as possible.

This has been the best purchase for me. It is so much easier to clean and maintain than the stainless steel bottles I was previously using. Another plus is that the container is so light weigt (and durable) that it's a breeze carrying 32 oz of water to school with me everyday. Also when I refill it during the day I can see how many ounces I'm putting into the bottle. Plus the narrow mouth makes it so much easier to drink from than their wide mouth version. Some people have complained that they are difficult to clean-- not true. If you are a water drinker like me all you have to do is put a little soap in the bottle, fill it with warm or hot tap water and let the bottle soak for a few minutes (remember to scrub around the inside/outside of the neck of the bottle & inside the cap) then rinse out all the soapy water and residue. If you drink something other than water then after the bottle has soaked for a few minutes insert a bottle brush and swirl it around the inside to give it a little extra cleaning then rinse. Now that doesn't sound too hard does it?

Nalgene bottles were unknown to me before I joined the military, but once I got in, I started seeing them everywhere. So of course I had to ask my coworkers what the big deal was.

"They're super durable," they told me, "And they don't suck up any flavoring from stuff you put in them."

Three Nalgene bottles later, I can confirm the former, but the latter leaves something to be desired. That same day, we took a Nalgene bottle out to the parking lot and ran it over with a coworker's truck. It warped to accommodate the vehicle, but went back to its natural shape once we were over it, no worse the wear minus a couple scratches here and there.

If you put something into the bottle with a taste (i.e., soda, juice, protein drink, etc), you'll be good to go so long as you rinse it out immediately afterwards. But if you leave it sitting for a day, you're gonna end up with that flavor stagnating in the bottle forevermore.

Still, for the price, I can't think of another bottle I'd recommend over this brand.

I'm very bad when it comes to water bottles. I use them for a couple of weeks, but it gets longer and longer between true cleanings. Then it gets longer and longer between rinses. Then I have to throw them out because there's stuff growing in them. And so, I found myself without any water bottles.

I used to have some of the wide-mouthed Nalgene bottles (same size as these) but these are a big improvement over the wide-mouthed bottles for two reasons: (1) I spill these a lot less often, even if I'm doing something fairly active while I'm drinking from them and (2) these have many fewer ridges both around the rim and inside the cap, so they're MUCH easier to clean. One downside is that you may have trouble fitting ice through the narrow opening, if you are interested in adding ice to your drinks.

At any rate, these (I bought two of them) are a lovely color and a good size, they're easy to carry and you can't lose the caps, and they're free of BPA. The label says "dishwasher safe" but I don't think the inside of these would be cleaned very well in a dishwasher, so I am personally opting to wash mine by hand (and hopefully do a better job than with my last set of water bottles). I use them to carry iced herbal tea to work and I'm very happy with the purchase.

This brand name, Nalgene definitely sure knows how to make environmentally safe reusable water bottle. Keep in mind that 1 quart = 32 ounces, so be prepared that this BIG water bottle is a good size to bring in the car or to the office.

Love it because the price is cheaper then anywhere locally, they have the color i wanted, and there was no need to go anywhere besides my computer! Used this on a camping trip to the Daniel Boone National forest and have several other that i bought from local shops for almost twice the price!

got my first nalgene about ten years ago by accident. someone left a blue one at my house. i couldn't find the owner so i left it in the cupboard for about a year, forgot about it, and then used it.

never having a 'proper' water bottle before, generally just buying them at the store, i didn't quite know the advantages.

needless to say i had that blue bottle for five years and used it relentlessly. it never once gave me any problem and i became quite addicted.

lost that original bottle unfortunately so i was blessed to find them online here. bought myself two as replacements and upon receipt of them realized they are the EXACT quality i quickly bought all of my friends one all over the states.

i've tried Kleen Kanteen and i like the idea of them and i really like the construction..but the cap, however, is a pain to put on and makes a irritating noise that makes my teeth hurt for some reason, this of course is personal and i believe they rock..im not gonna mention Siggs because they just suck in so many ways. a quick look at the 1 star reviews of Siggs and you'll see what im talking about...

nalgenes are the best. the toughest. BPA free and completely indestructable. best ten bucks you will ever spend.

personally i prefer the narrow mouth over the wide mouth although i have both. narrow is harder to clean, yes, but easier to drink from....wide is easier to clean but harder to drink from. your call.

once a week. a deep clean with a bottle brush, a efferdent tablet and hot water shaken for a couple minutes, rinced well does the trick for me. kills any/all bacteria.
