Best. Bottle. Ever.,
Flip top lid is genius, and doesn't leak ever. I love that this fits nicely into a bike cage or auto cupholder but I don't have to squeeze it or suck at it like a hamster to get a drink. One-hand operation is smooth and simple. I can't recommend it highly enough.

I have owned many water bottles over the years. This is my favorite. It fits in standard cup holders in cars, strollers and water bottle carriers on bikes. It is quick and easy to open. The cap isn't in your way when you take a drink (turn it to the side). I like the amount of "flow" of the beverage you get with the size of the opening. If you want a swig to swallow a vitamin etc., it is harder to get enough fluid to do that with a straw-type, for example. The cap protects the area you put your mouth on so it isn't going to get dirt, sand, gunk or grit on it. I have not had any problems with leakage or the latch wearing out and the bottle is probably a couple of years old.

An ok bottle, but I would recommend the more traditional Nalgenes.,

I bought this bottle specifically for cycling...it's the right size for a bottle holder on a bike, so that's a benefit over the traditional Nalgenes.
The problem I have with this bottle is that when it's turned upside down, it leaks out the top. The rubber seal on the cap isn't sufficient to keep all the liquid inside, so you can forget about throwing it in your backpack unless you want everything else in there soaked. Not your best work, Nalgene!

Okay, so I bought this bottle just kind of thinking that it would be a handy thing to have. I've been reusing the same three Dasani bottles and refilling them with water from my Brita pitcher (the tap water in my building is less than ideal), and just kind of sipping at water all casually. I thought this would be a nice sturdy bottle for carrying around, and carrying a bit more than those little bottles, and hey it's pretty, too!
BUT THEN. I poured some water into this bottle and it was TRANSFORMED. Instead of regular filtered water, it became a delicious elixir, one that I couldn't stop drinking! I found myself with an empty bottle in my hand, stunned at my sudden appetite for mere water. I don't know if it's the clicky lid, the loopy top, the measurements down the side, or the pretty blue color, but this bottle does something magical to water. Nalgene, you claim you are a plastics company, but I think you must secretly be staffed with wizards. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone.

Carry-all,
This bottle is made to carry in your hands or in your day pack side pocket, not loose in a bag. If you use it properly, "on the go" it's a great bottle for hikes and biking. It's small enough to carry, but big enough to quench your thirst for several hours of activity. A great buy, all the way around.

At first I loved these bottles. I bought 10 of them eventually because we drink lots of water and these were convenient.
Then the lids started to fall apart. The flip open lid part is designed very poorly. Not long after I purchased these bottles the flippy parts started falling off. I have a bag full of broken lids and a cupboard full of bottles with no lids. We don't use these outside the home. We use them around the house and we don't have kids. We didn't abuse them not even close. They are just poorly made. I tried contacting Nalegene several times and have been ignored. I tried more than one contact and still nothing. I'll never buy Nalgene again.

I have four of these--all new. It is kind of like Goldilocks.
One opens with barely a flick. Pretty scarey, so it won't go in a pack. I'm afraid just hanging it from a biner or brushing against something on a trail will open it. Another one (same color) takes two hands and a dish towel (to protect your finger) to get open. I wonder how long it will take to break in--if ever. This will probably just carry water and get the lid swapped with another when it's empty. The two others (another color) are JUST right. What's wierd is none of them leak yet, even when held over the sink and shaken very hard. I still haven't figured out what the rubber "button" on the top is for. I have tried pressing it down while closing the top, thinking it would create a vacuum seal, but it pops up quickly.
