5.0 out of 5 stars For those having trouble...
For those of you having trouble with the cup's valve, before using the cup for the first time, remove the valve and squeeze each side of it (it's cut in a cross shape). This breaks the seal and allows the liquid to flow perfectly!
I absolutely love these cups, and since our first purchase of them, I can't bring myself to buy any others. They DO NOT leak, at all!

2.0 out of 5 stars Difficult to drink from
I bought this item for my toddler because it is touted as the best drip-free bottle in a top ten list I read. It definitely is drip free but what makes it drip free also makes it hard to drink/sip from. Not the bottle to use to quench serious/immediate thirst.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great little water bottle for little ones!, November 29, 2008

I love this little water bottle, except one thing . . . its actually too hard for my toddler to drink out of. It has never leaked, hasn't broken in the several hundred throws, and its BPA free. But my 19 month old can't drink from it. I will keep it for him until he is older.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nalgene BPA-Free Tritan Sippy Cups - THE BEST!, April 2, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: NALGENE Tritan Grip-N-Gulp BPA-Free Water Bottle (Sports)
I have to say, the NALGENE Tritan Grip-N-Gulp BPA-Free Water Bottle is THE BEST sippy cup we have ever used! As a previous reviewer stated, these sippys DO NOT leak, except for a few drops that are already in the spout, when shaken. Also, these cups hold-up WONDERFULLY in the dishwasher, even over many years, being used on a constant daily basis. My 7-year old daughter used the "old" Nalgene sippys for many years, and now that they have come out with the BPA-Free versions, I have purchased a dozen "new" plastic sippys, and will be getting rid of all my old plastic sippys and bottles, especially now that my baby daughter wants to use the same kind of cup as Big Sister. :) These are so much more reasonably priced than the stainless steel sippys... which I found were $14+ each, and I love that the Nalgenes only have one valve to clean! If the new sippys are as spill-free and easy to clean as the old ones, I'll really love them, too! My daughters are excited for the new colors, as well... green and purple in addition to the original pink and blue colors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy - Just Right For Preschoolers, March 31, 2010
PROS

1 - BPA free

2 - the spill-proof valve keeps leaks from happening if the bottle gets tipped over

3 - virtually indestructable (my children have dropped theirs from all different heights and we haven't noticed a crack or scratch)

4 - size is just right for preschoolers

5 - wide neck (a bottle brush can be inserted to clean)

6 - you can purchase different caps for the bottle when your child outgrows the sippy spout

CONS

1 - although it is spill-proof it is not leak-proof. if the bottle is tipped upside down a few drops can come out

2 - not a lot of variety of colors

3 - still a #7 plastic despite being BPA free

5.0 out of 5 stars Would give it 6 stars if possible, December 19, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I love this item. We bought this one along with a green one for our son months ago. We were switching him from the bottle to a sippy and went through a dozen different kinds. This is our favorite and ended up being our son's favorite too. They are durable and easy to drink from...we tried it to make sure our son could do it. They do not spill when you tip them over. Inside is a rubber stopper that makes it so the child has to suck out the drink rather than it just pouring out. We remove that stopper for his last sippy of the night so that it comes out faster for him. After we bought our first 2, we went back and bought 3 more because we liked them so much. I read other reviews of people saying that they could not get the water to come out of the rubber stopper. When you first get the item, just pinch the stopper in both directions to make sure it opens up.

2.0 out of 5 stars Hard to drink through for little guys, May 19, 2010

Thought these bottle would be good for my little guys (18 months and 3.5 years.) but neither of them like them. The older one says it is too hard to drink from. Little one just refuses it. I tried drinking from it and I can get some out but I have the adult super suction thing going on and compared to their other bottles, I agree it, it is much harder to drink from. Bummer really as I did have high hopes for the bottles. SO I freecycled them.

I bought this bottle for my 2.5 year old daughter. She doesn't like it, and I don't blame her. I tried it and can't drink from it either. Hardly anything comes out, you have to suck super hard to get the water to come out. Plus, the water has a weird plastic taste to it.
