finally, a one-year edition NASB,

Finally someone put out an NASB translation of the Bible in a one-year formant! Although it isn't part of the One Year Bible line of products, the scriptures are arranged in 365 day divisions so that one can get through God's Word in a year from Genesis through Revelation. Also, one is not bound to follow the date as in other one-year editions. It comes in a nice hardcover edition with large print for easy reading with excellent study notes as well as doctrinal explanations. I couldn't believe it when I found it because it was something I've been waiting for for a long time. If you really demand word-for-word accuracy and reliable study notes as well as the pleasure of going through God's Word in a nice systematic way, you'll want this Bible!

Biased and Questionable Notes,

The layout, print, and NASB scripture text are great in this easy-to-read edition. However, some of the notes are biased and questionable. For example, the "TIME" for the Book of Genesis is given as "c. 4000-1804 B.C." setting the creation of the world at 4000 BC, with which many would disagree. Under Genesis 3:20, the notes say "Adam and Eve apparently had free access to the tree (of life) before the fall, and by continuing to eat its fruit they would live forever." To many, this is not apparant, and they would disagree that Adam and Eve ate regularly of the Tree of Life in the Garden. In Genesis 4, the notes say Cain's "bloodless offering was not necessarily inappropriate ... apparently the deficiency was in Cain's heart, not in the actual offering", a position which is probably a minority opinion. The introduction to 1 Samuel says "Saul seems to be a classic study in what a poor self-image can do to a person." I would think Saul is a classic study in disobedience to God and the fruits of sin, not a lesson in the need for self-esteem. If these biased positions in the notes will be troublesome, another edition of the NASB would be better, particularly for group Bible study.
