2.0 out of 5 stars Stupid mistake..., August 29, 2006
First, Colossians 4:12 reads: "Epaphras, who is one of your number, a bondslave of Jesuss Christ..."

I purchased this text in November 2004, and upon discovering the mistake, immediately e-mailed Zondervan to point it out. I'm not sure if it's been corrected in later printings, but I certainly hope so. To find a misspelling of "Jesus" in the Bible is, quite frankly, ridiculous, and causes me to question the integrity of the rest of the text as a general principle. However, this was the only huge concern (and the reason for the 2 star rating).

Another point to note is the dimensions of this particular Bible... I didn't consult the dimensions very carefully and when it came, it was a lot longer than I had expected. Most thinline Bibles are only a little longer than they are wide, but this one has a more distinct shape. If that's okay by you, it does still fit easily into purses, and the text is a readable size for me (but I'm in my early 20's).

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Little Bible, December 27, 2009
This review is from: NASB Trimline Bible (Leather Bound)
My in-laws presented me with this NASB Updated Edition just before I moved to China 6.5 years ago. I'm sure they didn't pay $125 so I don't know what that is about. The bonded leather has held up well over the years, and I like the classic black look. I could see many ladies preferring a more feminine color although it obviously doesn't matter. The print is tiny so if that might be an issue for you, I suggest not purchasing this Bible. Jesus' words in the New Testament are in red letters. I do like the unique shape of this Bible which allows it to fit nicely in the pockets of my pants. It is longer than my wife's compact Bible, but not as wide. The Bible contains a matching bound bookmark as well as a snap in the front. In the back of the Bible you will find a small section called Promises from the Bible and Perspectives from the Bible. These sections are really helpful when you want to quickly find verses pertaining to a particular subject. The wide variety of topics include anxiety, the Holy Spirit and reconciliation. I didn't give this Bible five stars because of the mistake found at Colossians 4:12 - Jesus is spelled Jesuss. That's a pretty sad mistake that I am sure made many upset. Something I like that my wife's NIV compact Bible from Zondervan contains that isn't found in this Bible is an introduction for each book. Each book of her Bible starts off with the meaning of the title, background information, author and date of writing, theme and message, and an outline. I also like the dictionary-concordance found at the back of her Bible. Despite the fact that these features are missing from the NASB Updated Edition, I am very happy with this Bible.
