5.0 out of 5 stars nascar 2000
I've had this game for three days and I can't wait to get home from work each day to play it. The sounds are great and the tracks are exactly the same has in real life. Complete with driving line, grandstands, everything you would see when driving around the track. The in car view is the best representation of what the driver must really see that I have ever seen...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not The Best
This is not the best game I`ve ever played. I think most people would like to lead a lap or two but you can`t!!! The computer speads up the field until they pass you. The handling is arcade style, waaay too easy. I have the very first NASCAR game and it is better than this one. I also think they need 43 drivers racing at the same time. People want realism and in real...

4.0 out of 5 stars EA Sports hits their highest gear, December 3, 1999

So far, the number 2000 has been a magic one for EA Sports. Every edition of their games that brandishes that number has been exceptional, and NASCAR 2000 continues that trend. EA has always been so diligent about licensing all of their sports games that it's easy to overlook that this game has everything a NASCAR fan could want--real tracks, drivers, cars, and a serviceable amount of information about each one. If there isn't something you like, simply create your own driver and car, and feel free to adjust its settings (downforce, oversteer, car balance and such) to your liking. The customizing of cars and other game options is excellent. Previous EA NASCAR games have always been heavy on features, but stumbled when it came to the aesthetics. Not so here. The graphics, while not outstanding (like Gran Turismo 2 or R4), are very well detaild in terms of making the cars look identical to their counterparts and doing the tracks justice. Also, the game's steady frame-rate doesn't sputter during the split-screen two-player mode. Suffice to say, if you're a NASCAR fan, it's hard to imagine that you won't like this realistic racing game. PROS: Smooth framerate, Fully licensed, Lots of customizing/ CONS: Mediocre sound effects and music, Nothing very flashy

4.0 out of 5 stars Truly good racing, December 15, 2000

Well i have played all of EA's NASCAR games, and i must say, they are truly good but they don't "Beat the Heat". If you already have played EA's NASCAR 2000-2001 you shoud try NASCAR Heat by Hasbro.

4.0 out of 5 stars You'll Shift Into High Gear With This Game, July 30, 2000

Nascar 2000 is one of the most realistic racing games I have ever played. EA Sports has put out another winner.

The graphics are superb and very realistic. The motion is so smooth, it's easy to sometimes forget that this is only a game. The sound could be done a little better, but the game more than makes up for it with the new fantasy courses, and allowing you to race against the king, Richard Petty.

Another nice feature is the ability to customize a car to your liking. Nascar 2000 allows you to pick from a myriad of options to satisfy your own particular cravings. Overall, this game is quite entertaining and a surefire hit for racing fans.

NASCAR 2000 is still a great game, especially if you are a big fan of racing like myself. But, I must admit that NASCAR 99 was better. The graphics on 2000 come up a little short of its predecessor, but the new fantasy tracks and being able to drive as Richard Petty almost make up for it. This game is as fun racing by yourself as it is in head to head mode and is highly addictive!

This is the best pure racing game I have played. This game offers everything you could ask for in deciding how your car will run and handle, right down to the air pressure in your tires. The only thing left is for them to increase the field so that you are racing against 40 drivers vs. 16. Thanks EAP Sports -- keep up the good work.

I think you could do better NASCAR!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars A good ride, February 14, 2002
This review is from: NASCAR 2000 (Video Game)
This game is a very smooth ride. I loved it. I couldn't put it down once it came in the mail. Still, I was somewhat disappointed with how easy it was to win the championship. All it seems to take is a course with enough nintey degree turns. You can always make those turns faster than the rest of the cars for some reason, no matter who you play with. So, the game is fun and runs smoothly, but pretty much anyone with a steady hand will defeat the first try.

4.0 out of 5 stars I mean its fun, but you need more cars for each race, March 25, 2001

Both the first game and this one are pretty fun, but you need more than 16 cars to be a real race. Also, when are they going to make a NASCAR game that has some real crashes. I know its just a game but I think that some more smoke and visual damage to cars would be cool. I mean you can bump cars all the time in this game and nothing ever happens. It was still fun, but it could be better

This game is out of this world.Nascar 2000 is the closest you can get to the real thing. The game features 33 cars,7 new cars, and 7 ledgends like Cale yarbourogh and richard petty and more. There are 18 tracks and road courses for you to race on.There are also 4 or 5 new road courses that you never heard about before. There is another neat feature were you get to race against the king Richard petty to prove your'e the best. The graphics are the best Ea sports has ever made.I give a thumbs up on this game.
