Peter Golenbock has five New York Times bestsellers to his credit. His previous books include: Dynasty, an oral history of the New York Yankees; Wild, High, and Tight, the story of Yankee manager Billy Martin and team owner George Steinbrenner; Thunder and Lightning, the no-holds-barred life story of hockey great Phil Esposito; and American Zoom, an oral history of NASCAR. Peter Golenbock lives in St. Petersburg, Florida.

If you are looking for an expose on the world of NASCAR and pick up this book , you will be sorely disapointed, but it was an entertaining read and it was fun to learn about some of the legends Of NASCAR. Fireball Roberts, Curtis Turner, etc.... There are better books that pertain to the history of NASCAR but this is an enjoyable read for any fan.
