Not bad, June 27, 2000

Nascar Road Racing is fun, but it's sort of hard to turn at corners. The names in the stats screen are all messed up. I haven't had any problems with it shutting off or crashing. It's hard to use it when you first get it, but when you get used to it, it's easier. That's why I give it 4 stars.

First, this game was released before Windows XP was. That said, I couldn't get video in Windows ME, but it ran fine under Windows XP.
Second, your controller options are severely limited. I am using an automatic transmission, because I can't switch the upshift and downshift buttons.
Third, the game is fun, for the sake of being fun. I have Race, Race 07, GTR, GTR 2, GP3, GP4, and a whole bunch of other racing games. This game is just plain fun. I can't play it with my steering wheel, and I can't tweak the car to my liking, but with a simple gamepad, you can kill some time on a three hour flight.
Overall, there are better racing sims, but this one is for those that cannot deal with the good ones and for those that just want something to kill some time.

This is worse than Andretti Racing!, August 20, 2002

When I got this game it wouldn't run at all. My system has Windows 98 and an Intell Pentium 2. If you have nothing more than a Pentium 2, DON'T BUY THIS GAME!
