This is a very fun game! It is a cartoonish, arcade racing game along the lines of Mario Kart and Crash CTR but with the NASCAR theme. Hilarious announcers and larger than life gameplay! Not recommended if you're looking for anything resembling a racing simulator, but if your just looking for a fast, fun, loud game it's for you!

This being one of the first games I played on a playstation system, it's still after a year and half rates as the number one game for hilarious fun. Although one can play without Mayhem and enjoy comical comments as you race against the computer or somebody else, it's the "Mayhem" and racing with an Elite chicken truck that has caused me to keep this game long after I have traded all my others. Now that I have a steering wheel I am reintroducing myself to each track at each level and laughing at every twist and turn in the tracks. My suggestion is that those who have enjoyed NASCAR RUMBLE contact Electronic Arts and beg for RUMBLE II. Knowing the current growth in state of the art graphics I can only wonder what could come in the next version.

Nascar Rumble is the greatest racing game ever made for the sony playstation! The graphics are great, the music is great, and the control of the vehicles is very, very real. Not only can you be any one of the nascar drivers, you can also be several of the craftsman truck series drivers. Those who want something different can be a golf cart,rocket car, chicken truck, and many other "crazy" cars. The power-ups make this game even better. But you can also take them off and race a "real" race. Practice your skills before you get this game, only the BEST can win at the elite level.

NASCAR RUMBLE is excellent, plain and simple. Unlike EA's other NASCAR franchise, Nascar Rumble is not the simulation but a more arcade feeling experience along the lines of San Fransisco Rush.

The cars and TRUCKS!! in Nascar Rumble are the Winston Cup Cars from the 1999 season, and also includes some of the TOP drivers from Craftsman Truck Series from that season including Ron Hornaday, Rick Carelli, Stacy Compton, Jack Sprague and Mike Wallace (Most of which are in Winston Cup now). There are also several Retired drivers as well including Richard Petty in his Superbird, and Davey Allison and ALan Kulwicki (god rest their souls) in Superbirds painted like their old Winston Cup cars.

The gameplay in Nascar Rumble is fast and furious. There are secret paths on every course. There are courses, cars and levels of play that have to be unlocked. Did I mention the weapons? Imagine being in last place and sending a well placed Tornado down the track and wiping out the competion and winning the race. You can do it in Nascar Rumble.

In two player mode the game is even more fun. You can race against a buddy in split screen mode and use the same powerups shortcuts etc, against each other.

Bottom line, this is an extremely fun game. It combines what is great about NASCAR, while staying away from the simulation style of the previous NASCAR games.

my 5 year old son and I play this together all the time, it's more fun than the standard NASCAR games b/c it's more than just "drive fast, turn left" there are lots of street tracks, short cuts, and different things to do.

we have sat for hours playing this game.

and have had a blast unlocking some cool cars, and playing against the older drivers!!

This game is great. There are so many features in this game that you won't get anywhere else. For one, there are the tracks. There are around 18 tracks. The tracks range from aspalt to dirt to grass. You race through canyons, swamps, marshlands, and all kinds of other things. Almost all of the tracks have shortcutts that you can take to win races easier. The tracks sometimes are wide, and sometimes they are very short.The tracks almost always have jumps, or places where you get stuck and where it takes you a while to get out.
The tracks aren't the only bonus feature though. There are all kinds of powerups that range high speed boosts to tornados that will clear the track ahead of you. There are also freezes that locks the cars steering, shockwaves that blow the car in front or behind you high up into the air, and storms that hover above the other car and clouds it's vision and slows it down. There are also many more powerups.
The cars are another cool thing. You've got all the Nascar cars and Nascar trucks that are in real life in this game. You can also unlock legends to race with or race against. The legends range from Davey Allison to Richard Petty, to a bunch of other legendary Nascar drivers. You can aslo unlock bonus cars. They range from tow trucks, to hot rods, and even golf carts. NASCAR Rumble is one of the funnest arcade games ever made. You get to race as any of the NASCAR Winston Cup drivers of the 2000 series, plus past legends and a few truck drivers (and some bonus vehicles like golf carts and chicken trucks). There are a great selection of tracks and different power-ups that can help, or hurt you. The commentary is that of the Anamaniacs, and at times, can be very funny. The only bad thing about this game, is that it takes too long to work your way up to the Elite calss level. Overall, it is a very entertaining game.

This is a game where not only Nascar racing is destructive, but the game is probably one of the most highly-valued games out there for the PS.

There are some pretty impressive graphics and it's overwhelming to experience the speed of the game--practically no slow downs.

The features are just amazing. For instance, try choosing an elite Nascar vehicle, and you'll notice an amazing upgrade. And even more spectacular, you have the bonus vehicles for elite--they have even more upgrades and surprises.

It's a really fun game because the mayhem and destruction cannot be surpassed by other games. You'll even be playing the single player mode, single race, and you're going to have a lot of excitement trying to outrun the opponents--this also benefits you for the championship races.

Levels are VERY interesting. A set of levels from a metropolis/beverly hills-like area to the swampy lands of the Big Easy; we've got a lot of variety here. Unlocking the bonus levels is fun--if you want even more chaos and massive amounts of destruction, try unlocking 'Circus Minimus'; you'll see what I mean. And don't forget the shortcuts, as they can benefit for the lap times of tracks, getting in first place, and escaping from a couple of twisters and a few freezes and storms!
