Top marks to Tadlow for this ambitious and remarkably successful recreation of a magnificent Tiomkin score. Sound quality is excellent. I have this re-recording and the (relatively rough-sounding) original soundtrack, and this sparkiling, expanded new performance is definitely my preference for future listening. Tiomkin's orchestral fireworks are often difficult to duplicate adequately in new recordings, but this one is a truly admirable effort from all concerned.

This music is very fine - I particularly appreciated the fact that the theme song is vocalized, as well as the short verse that is sung at the very end of the movie as the end titles are displayed.

It's quite a nice CD, and the sound quality isn't bad - but the one and only song I was interested in - the wedding song - is not on the CD... Too bad! All the other melodies are included.
