5.0 out of 5 stars Not a sim but awesome fun
Let me start off by saying that I have not encountered a single glitch, zero, zilch. (Of course, after I print this, it will probably glitch out on me.) That being said, this game is a great basketball game. The first thing you have to take into account is the fact that it isn't a deep sim. If you want that, you probably would be better off buying 2k9. The gameplay...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good
Learning how to play the game is very difficult. The only good part about it was the franchise mode, without playing an actual game.

The gameplay leans more towards arcade style without it being over the top. There is a deep progression system which gives the game a RPG type element. The addition of the downloaded game of the week system adds new content to the game every week during the season which is nice. There is a lot to do in this game from the Inside story system, to the Franchise mode, to quick play and online. Each area of the game gives you rewards for accomplishing tasks. Also, it includes trophies so you can brag to your friends on how much of a baller you are. Try this game, you may like it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun if you are not looking for too much realism, January 31, 2009

I bought this game because it is one of the few 1080p games. The graphics in the title screens are great but the game play is no better than a 720p game. otherwise the play is fun and realitively easy. I wish there were a few more secret things in the game but it is ok to waste some time with.

You cant just listen to the reviews, this game to me is the best, and im not even choosing it just to say, I HAVE ALL THREE NBA GAMES, and this one is definitley amazing, the only prob with the game is that you are to acuurate, on a online game i shot 96 points with kobe, fun for me, not other dude though. Definitley a fun game and graphics are very good, and i love the replay system!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Give it a try, there is a good chance you will like this one, November 30, 2008

I was very skeptical at first. All the professional reviews were raving 2k9 and dissing this one. Found it on black Friday deal for single digit prices. Iam very happy that I bought this one. Technically this is the best looking basket ball game out there. Graphics looks stellar. It may not have all the nuances of 2K series.. who cares. Unless you are fanatic it wont matter. The game plays silky smooth every thing works as expected. If you take time and setup your defense it is easy to play. Seriously give it a try if you see it on sale. There is a high chance you will like it.

I like the story mode in the game. You start from the streets and grow up to pro. It is better than madden be a pro mode. There is a good story that makes you to finish the single player campaign. If you want to show case the power of your PS3 pick this one... you friends will be awe struck when they see this one in action.

I downloaded the demo of this game and another NBA09 Live from Sony's Playstation Store about two weeks ago. We tried both demos several times. I deleted the other almost immediately as it just did not play as well (IMHO) as this one. My two sons and I played the demo over and over. The periods in it are only 1 minute in length but you have a full four and it is two player. I have a 65" Mitsubishi DLP and the graphics are astounding for a PS3 game. I had to have the actual game and bought it last week. I can not say it does not have a glitch now and then but for the overall, it is amazing. I think it is much better than the other demo of NBA09 and better in graphics and gameplay than NBA08 Live. BTW my one son is six years old and he is fantastic when he plays this game. It is his favorite PS3 game and he just loves beating the pants off of dad. My wife agrees also, of the three games, this is the best. If you like basketball games, give the demo a try and see for yourself.

I love the graphics (FULL HD 1080p with HDMI cord). It is not as popular as 2K or Live, but it has better graphics and game play is less complicated.

This game came with a PS3 we purchased on a Gold Box deal. I have personally only played the game a few times but my teen boys love it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too many glitches, October 23, 2008
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: NBA '09 The Inside (Video Game)
Starting off with the glitches- This game has way too many glitches. One player on your team will stop moving and can remain that way for the whole game, or sometimes he will unfreeze a little sooner, this will usually occur at least every other game you play. You can be on one end of the court and your opponent with the ball can be on the other and all of a sudden you get a reach in foul(with NO ONE in site). Also for example pierce could be on one end of the court and pass it all the way down court with none other than pierce retrieving his own pass, which can take realism out of the game.

Game play- the game play is decent the graphics are really good. Getting an assist in the game is nearly impossible which will make the life game play hard to win. Even an ally oop won't count towards an assist sometimes.

Franchise- Franchise is a little to plain. It would be nice to set ticket prices and even practice on off games, which you can't do in this game.

The life- The life is fun although really short. You must complete missions such as get 4 assists with PG, or get 3 two point jumpers with PG.

There is also a team progression system that will add points to your profile where you can then buy attribute points, sneakers, tattoos, wrist and head bands.

Overall in my opinion the graphics are in 2009 standards but the game could generally be a lot better. Price wise i wouldn't pay $[...] for it if I could go back. Id say mostly worth $[...] in order for me to buy again.
