MUST HAVE!,

This review is from: NBA: 25 Years of Champions (DVD)
First of all, in regard to the previous review...you have to know what you 're buying.I knew that this dvd was a collection of every championship season video(1980-2004).I also read the product review which says "The program features all the drama and highlights of the championship team's drive to the NBA Finals".Meaning the videos focus on the winning team and they also focus on the finals. Some of 'em don't follow that exact formula but guess what...these for me are the weakest.because, let's face it you cannot fit one Nba season in a one hour video.Anyway there are all the great moments,players,plays...it simply doesn't get any better.except in some cases like the "return to glory"('85 Lakers)which is poorly produced...the narrator speaks constantly without altering his voice tone, and after a while he becomes quite irritating.Speaking of irritating the music in the videos from '80-'87 tottally sucks! But let's face it,these are minor flows...Top 5 videos '90 pistons '93 Bulls '98 Bulls 2000 Lakers '84 Celtics

This DVD set is great if you want to see half of how both teams made the Finals and half for how the team that won the title got there. I actually really liked the set from 1980-1986 because each year went over how the whole playoffs and even the regular season (especially 1984 which included the All-Star Weekend) went and how both teams got to the NBA Finals. But then when it got to the 1987 Finals it became a team video on how the Lakers did for the whole season and had no details on how the Celtics got there, after that 1988 went the same way with a Laker team video with no mention of how the Pistons got there, but then 1989 it went back to how both the Pistons and Lakers made the Finals and also the Inaugural Seasons for the Charlotte Hornets and Miami Heat and then 1990 and on it went to just the winning teams video. So if you're looking for a history of the last 25 NBA Champions well you're not going to get the whole story. This DVD set is good but if you're a fan of the losing team from any of the Finals you may not find how you're team got there.

Unbelievable value!,
This review is from: NBA: 25 Years of Champions (DVD)
This is the first review I've ever felt i've needed to write but I was astounded to see how many unfavorable reviews have been written about this collection! As I write this review this set is only $25.99!! That means you're paying about ONE DOLLAR for each 1 hr program on these DVD's!! Yeah, if you already have the Bulls, Lakers and Celtics sets you then you'll have a lot of repeats, but it's not this collections fault that in the past 25 years those three teams happened to dominate NBA basketball. I would imagine that any casual fan of basketball wouldn't mind not having entire games to watch and that die hard fans would appreciate all of the history and stories encapsulated into these DVD's.
Cons: -Double sided DVD's rather than dual layered despite this set being released in 2005 (but standard with most of the NBA DVD collection releases) -Terrible case to hold the DVD's (very much like the Ultimate Jordan Collection case where some discs are physically placed behind other discs, for example, to remove disc 2 from the case you'd have to remove disc number one first) -No games Pros: -The RIDICULOUS amount of NBA history this set covers: everything from Magic versus Bird, the Detroit Bad Boys, MJ's greatness, Double Clutch City, the most recent Lakers three-peat... -If you don't mind having the games, then you could buy this set and skip many of the team history collection videos. -Hate be keep driving this point in like a bad infomercial but $25.99 are you kidding me????

I bought this DVD set to check the development of the NBA in 80s and 90s. I think it maps all the thing accurately, but if you are a certain team-fan, do not hesitate to buy special edition of Bulls or Lakers. The DVDs are here burned on both sides, so its actually 10DVD set. Do not download it in a poor quality on web, the DVD quality is A must here, especially if you look at the older video material used by producers of the set. Recommended!

First of all, let's get one thing out of the way, this is not really a new DVD. The majority of the team videos in here have already been released on VHS, and the ones for Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Antonio 2003, and Detroit 2004 have been released on DVD as well.
It's great to have since they are all in one place, but repetitive if you have the Bulls, Lakers, and Celtics sets.

If your a NBA fan then this is the perfect DVD for you. Especially if your young or weren't born yet, to see how good Jordan was, or any other NBA player you like. All together it was a great DVD I would tell anybody to buy it.

On the back of the box it says it showcases every NBA Finals from 1979 to 2004. Where is the 1979 Finals between the Sonics and Bullets? Also this is a re-hash of the highlight tapes released in the late 80's that are still being released today.
In the 76ers/Bulls/Laker/Celtics Dynasty Series complete games are shown, why couldnt they at the very least show some complete clinching games from those years?
