I got this game like every other person out there..so desperately wanting to play that Jordan Challenge..hoping to see other classic teams as well..ok firstoff yes I know the PS2 is on it's last legs(of course with inflation etc prices going up..some people*cough*me..cant afford a PS3 yet)..so anyway no Jordan challenge..IDK if it ha all the players or not I just been making changes on the roster..I admit PS2 version didnt change much from PS3 version. So lets break it down shall we..starting with the negative:

Cons:

No Jordan Challenge

No Classic Teams(just the 60 70 80 n 90s all stars UGH..which im quite frankly tired of cause I wanna play with classic teams instead of all stars)

No Blacktop mode..so cant play 3pt shootout or dunk contest

Thats top 3 that takes this game down from a 5 star classic to a 3 star..NBA2K10 i was ok with..cause it did what i wanted it to do..2K11 supposed to be a masterpiece..and they blew it on PS2.

Pros:

Still very much realistic..what ive seen so far..people do have some of their signature moves(i dont expect every single detail), updated roster/ratings..umm thats about all i noticed so far.

So, the choice is yours..id say if you are a NBA fan, cant afford a PS3 yet, and if you can get over the cons..then buy it..BUT, if you want the masterpiece 2k11..wait til you get a better system or play your friends.

The game is a good game. Features are great, but I am picky when it comes to dribbling and shooting. I went into practice mode in "veteran" difficulty and my shots were all perfect yet I still missed them. I like realism and competition, but I don't want to be annoyed in the process. Missing wide open shots with great shooters like Ray Allen and Micheal Redd is frustrating. I have won all of my games by dunks and layups. It's really a good game and I do plan to repurchase, but right now it's not my cup of tea.

I am still holding onto my PS2, and someone I know has this game for XBOX 360, so I thought I would try it for PS2. Bottom line, it's not even close to being the same, and it might be worth it for you to save up and get an XBOX 360 at this point. Much better graphics and gameplay. I am going to sell this game.

Right. So... I've had NBA 2k7 for PS2, and I believe 2k9 and 2k11 for PS3, but then my PS3 broke so I bought the last PS2 version, 2k11 (again)

This said, this Ps2 version of the game is unbelievably disappointing, never have I seen so little effort. It's very obvious that NBA 2K wants you to upgrade consoles at this point, because there are little things in this that make it unplayable longer-term.

The biggest gripe I have is the fact that you can't customize created player age. If you create a player in this, for some reason it only lets them be 26-30 years old to start, who the hell wants to create a rookie 26 year old? PLUS for some unbelievable reason, the game has a serious problem with all ages. Case in point, when you do a fantasy draft, the ages shown (so if I'm looking at drafting Kevin Durant and look at his age on draft screen) is 6 years or something less than it is actually. So you draft a bunch of players who have an age way younger than they're supposed to, BUT THEN when you start the franchise, their age is back to normal. What?

AND if you're looking at person you created, this may be something you go through:

You create a player whose age is 30 (the lowest age they allow you to have; it randomizes it and you have to check your player after you make it to see what age they gave you), and then you start a franchise, and their age drops 4 years from whatever it previously said. So your 30 year old becomes 26.

Now if you want to do a fantasy draft and take the 26 year old, it'll show his age is like 22 or 21 or something, so you say wow, it finally got the age right, and draft the 22 year old. But what happens when the franchise starts? He's 26 again.

NBA 2K11 delivers the same graphics and commentary as 2K10. The only added bonus is having great Chicago Bulls teams of the 90s (and the "bad" Bulls of the 80s). The only issue here is "no Dennis Rodman" on the last 90s teams. Rodman was a critical part of the Bulls success in their final run of NBA championships. With that said, if you're going to purchase this game, I suggest doing so through Amazon, otherwise you definitely will pay a lot more money then this game is worth.

This game is pretty fun. The graphics are not amazing, and the pace is just a little to fast, but neither of those factors really bother me. I did NOT buy the game for the Jordan challenge or historic rosters, so that doesnt knock it down much either. My only real complaint is that free throw shooting is (at least for me) next to impossible, I have made 1 out of over 30 so far. Many of them were with good free throw shooters. Thats probably on me though.

I bought this game at a local Wal Mart in January after I heard great things about it. When I got home and out it in my PS2 I had to make sure it wasn't 2K10. Not many changes, no career mode and no Jordan Mode/Challenges. I got this game to do the Jordan modes and when it didn't have it i was so disappointed. Even the PSP and Wii have those features I mean come on 2K.Thats why I will not buy another 2K Title for the PS2 and will play PC for now on.
