This review covers the PC version only. And I tested this with a team of maxed out players to make sure it's not because the players are bad players. I'm also using a pc with an i7 and 5850, well above what is needed to make this game run smoothly. Here are some immediate issues I noticed.

Movement lag (UPDATED)- Turn down the defensive assist under controller settings and your player will move much more smoothly and more accurately.

AI - CPU defense is still pretty bad. Basically if you let your computer teammates defend against the computer offense, the offense will almost always sink the shot. That means you have to frantically switch players every time the ball is passed. This is usually fine for most games. But I think either because of the movement lag or another bug, you're caught out of position quite frequently when switching players. The AI on your team also chooses some of the worse times to switch on defense. There were instances where the cpu would stop guarding a player that was driving down the lane and switch on defense with you because your player is standing nearby. Of course the opponent will continue driving for an easy lay up. The AI also does not box out properly on almost every missed shot. I've seen Kevin Love let Steve Nash run in front of him to get an offensive rebound much more frequently than the real Love will allow. Transition D is horrible. Defense seems to be defaulted to walk back on D. This leaves transition offense super powerful and effective.

Shot release timing - I do like that 2k provides a grading feedback system on your jump shots. One of the grades is the timing which shows if you released too early, perfectly on time, or too late. But I think there's an error in showing what's a correctly timed release.

This is exactly why I was hoping for Live to come out this year... 2K would still be superior but it seems that lack of competition is making 2K lazy. Roster is NOT complete. A LOT of rookies and other players who didn't play last year are missing. Trades were reflected INACCURATELY. Some players were just left with the original team even though the trade is reflected in the roster. These error are still not corrected by their official roster update on 10/10.

Also, can't speak for console versions but for pc version, online is joke. Head-to-Head does not seem to work at times but it's something understandable. Online association on the other hand, I have yet to successfully connect on numerous tries.

Is this a fun game? Yes. But I just cannot give them 5 stars or even 4 for their pure lack of professionalism. No way a company of that size couldn't afford 1 person to review the roster and make sure all was accurate. I really hope association online gets fixed soon too.

If you are reading this then you have read or will read other reviews about the pc version of this game that will say the same things.... Graphics are great.. The My Player mode is awesome.. The new features are pretty cool... The main three that stand out is building your fan base which consists of Starts, NBA Stars and NBA Legends, being able to sit down and talk with the GM about who you like and don't like on the team and the feedback from the coach while you are playing the game..... The adjustments made to the buttons and shot stick is also a vast improvement... The funny thing is that I didn't see anything wrong with how the layout was in 2k12 until I started playing 2k13....

Now to why the pc version only gets 3 stars................ NO ALLSTAR WEEKEND... NO VC POINTS.... AND YOU CAN'T UNLOCK THE SUPERSTARS FOR THE BLACKTOP... Sure you can play with Shane Battier, Mike Miller, Serge Ibaka.... But no westbrook, bryant, Durant, James, Wade.. No one on that caliber is available....

What I have heard about all three consoles.. (pc, ps3 and xbox) is that being able to send nike the shoe you have created to get it actually made is all hype... By the way.. I have yet to see this feature on here too.. Sure I can create shoes but I haven't found any link whatsoever to send to nike.... Nevertheless when I say all hype I mean that the shoes you create have to be on the nikeid website already.... the shoe creator in 2k13 is one of the best add-ons for a video game I have ewver seen but they completely mislead you by saying "create your own shoes"..

I could go on and on about how cheated one will feel IF you buy this because of all the features 2ksports advertised about this game but I won't......

It's a shame gameplay wasn't considered as important as Jay Z (perhaps I'm not in the target audience; I turned the music off after an hour), because this game takes backward steps in several areas.

In particular, the ever-popular My Player mode has poorly-considered and useless changes, such as:
    - Tedious, unskippable press conferences.
    - Hilariously bad pre-game "pep talks" (thankfully skippable).
    - The removal of set goals at the start of the game to earn points (dynamic goals appear, but are often ludicrously unachievable especially when you only play limited minutes or when they bear no relation to your player's role).
    - The coach now provides "feedback", which can include telling you repeatedly that he'll take you off at the next break without doing so.
    - Broken player minutes with some quarter time settings, resulting in your rookie spending the whole second half on the court, with literally no stamina for much of it.
    - In-game recaps of your performance which are nonsensical - a 6-point, 15-assist game results in commentators talking about you being a machine at the free-throw line , while your totally unremarkable game has them praising you as a dominant force.
    - Weaker rewards for training, which makes it even more tedious.
    - A lack of pre-set dunking animations, meaning that if you don't manually set dunking animations for your player, you can't dunk (baffling countless players who couldn't work out why their player refused to dunk)

There are plenty of problems in general, including:
    - Features are inexplicably missing from the PC version, including game modes, graphical features, custom soundtracks and a currency system. There is no apparent reason for this.
