This review is from: NBA 2K7 (Video Game)
well...This goes out to the previous reviewer...first off.there are numerous new animations..i mean..kobe shoots like..well kobe.....Big Z actually dont jump on his jump shot and numerous other stars have there own jump shot animation..something kinda tight..as for upgrades..well the roster is updated and the A.I. is much smarter..how is that not an update?..plus now you have full control on how your team plays; you now have that option to change in the option menu..and the post game is much better..more realistic..and the shot stick..WOW..perfection...and if you care about jersey numbers..its updated too...so Artest has number 93 and Kobe has 24...(a plus since in any of the 2k series you are not allowed to change numbers)..so dont listen to those fools who say buy 2k6 or switch to live 07...they have no idea about how a true simulation should be...but dont get me wrong Live is also a very good game but not as real in the simulation department like 2k7..so go buy this game....why pay 20 bucks for an old game such as 2k6, when you could add 10 more dollars to it and buy 2k7? why would you do that?..no disrespect to the previous reviewers but people need to think a little bit...

2K Games Have Done It Again,
By
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: NBA 2K7 (Video Game)
Yep folks it's NBA time again. And with the new season comes the three new games all of us basketball junkies anticipate. So the race for the best basketball game is on! My winner is: NBA 2K7. Instead of focusing on create-a-shoe and dunk contests, 2K games have focused on the most up-to-date graphics and the most realistic gameplay a basketball game could possibly offer.
With that said, I would like to say the game didn't automatically appeal to me at first. Alot of people are complaining that it is the exact same game as 2K6, but I don't see how 2K games could've improved very much over that game. 2K6 was an amazing game. And to be perfectly honest, I don't think that 2K7 is on it's level entirely. First things first, let me tell you about the gameplay. Some of the crossover moves and spins and dribbles are sloppier than the previous addition. And the control you have over your player was a bit minimized in this game. But other than those two annoyances, the game is really easy to get into and by far the best basketball game this year. Of course, you have the Association, where you take a team and try to become a dynasty over a long period of time. All of the same aspects are back, such as the Owner's Mood, Team Chemistry, Practices, and Development. There is a new addition to the trading part though, as you can now have three teams involved in one trade. There is also a section for award races, where you can see the top 5 runners for the end of the year awards. That's pretty cool as well. Everything else about this is pretty much the same as the previous year's game. For reasons that I do not know, 2K games took out the 24/7 mode for the Playstation 2 and I think it is only on the 360 version of the game. It may affect some people, but seeing as that particular mode wasn't my main conern, it's absence doesn't really bother me. There's street games as well, where you can even play with celebrities by the likes of Common, ?uestlove, Aceyalone, and others. You can even play in the weirdest places (one of your choices is Egypt). You still have your Crib and your VIP. Everything in the crib is pretty much the same, where you can put up pennants, bobbleheads, framed jerseys, etc. and play mini-games like air hockey and darts. Your VIP is pretty much the same as well, where you can save your stats and check your tendencies at any time. Your off-the-dribble moves were changed a bit this time around. You can perform different moves by selecting different buttons, instead of some random crossover or spin. You still use the left analong stick to control it though. What I like most about this game though are the styles they've added to individual players. Even though 2K games have always been pretty good about creating simulated replicas of NBA players, they've gotten even better this year. If anyone is familiar with Shawn Marion, they'd know his shot is rather weird. Well, on the game, Shawn Marion will shoot just like he does in real life. And if you're familiar with the Suns' style of play, you'd know they pass rather quickly to get a quick easy bucket, and that's exactly what they do on the game as well. That's how I can say it's probably the most realistic game in the history of NBA games. However, there's one thing that really bothers me about the gameplay. When your opponent comes up to shoot close to the basket, and you foul him, he almost ALWAYS makes it. He'll make the shot for the 3-point play about 95% of the time. That's about the only unrealistic part in this game. So, if you want the best basketball game to buy, you better buy this one. It doesn't get much realer than this. It's cheaper than Live, it's more realistic, and it's an overall better game. Any NBA junkie needs this game. It's your best choice if you want the realest simulated basketball game ever invented.

Awesome NBA Game For The Next Generation,
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: NBA 2K7 (Video Game)
This game is so cool! The graphics are so crisp and life-like it looks like it's really Jason Kidd and Carmelo and LeBron and Shaq out there (and everyone else too). The style of gameplay is addictive. The controls are easy to memorize and the gameplay is realistic. The situations in the game like scoring runs, turnovers, and plain old blowouts is so realistic. NBA Live is getting old and it's the same thing every year with one more or less thing on there. NBA Live's gameplay is so slow and non-realistic, you'll want to fall asleep while playing it. 2K7 though is the real deal. The franchise mode is so deep that you control all of the shots from practices to playing time on the court. This year you aren't the only one who trades. The CPU trades with you and itself! Trust me, you wanna get a great basketball game this year really cheaper than NBA Live, but not as cheap (and crappy) as SONY'S big bust NBA 07, get NBA 2K7. It is awesome!
