This is a game for sports enthusiasts. It is basically just a basketball game but with good graphics. The auto replay is always fun and there are many camera options. The game has a lot of teams and players.

This game is pretty fun when you first play it. It has many moves similar to NBA Jam TE. However, it is better with more players and teams. All the familiar Jam elements in this game include hot spots, turbo, powerups, and unreal dunks. These are cool at first but get really boring after a while. The graphics is very good but the sound is disappointing, especially the music during the game, which is very annoying. One problem with the control is that the turbo button is the start button making it hard to move your player while holding down turbo. Other than that this is a fine basketball game with little realism. If you like the arcade style of the original NBA Jam game then this one is for you. Otherwise, you'll be better off getting a more realistic basketball game in NBA 3 On 3 Featuring Kobe Bryant, which is a better game overall.

This game is very fun when you first play it. After a while it just get really boring and annoying, especially the music during a game. This game is is everything but a simulation of the real sport. You can do crazy dunks and shots and catch on fire after making consecutive shots. When you're on fire you can pretty much make any shot within the halfcourt line. There are also icons on the court that boost your scoring such as a 10 pts shot.
The graphics in this game is decent. The music, on the other hand, is annoying after a while. The control is fine except for the turbo button which is the start button. It's really hard to try to move your player while holding down the turbo button at the same time.
This game is good overall. If you like arcade style basketball then this game is for you. If you prefer to play a more realistic basketball game on the gameboy then get NBA 3 On 3 Featuring Kobe Bryant. NBA 3 On 3 plays much more realistic with rules and whistles.

NBA Jam '99 is all about fun. If you like to see players doing crazy, impossible moves then there is no reason not to get this game. You can do whacky moves such as dunking the ball from the 3 point line and jump 20 feet up in the air. However, if you prefer a more realistic basketball game then you must ge NBA 3 ON 3 FEATURING KOBE BRYANT.
