Best basketball game ever!,
By
This review is from: NBA Street Volume 2 (Video Game)
I'm not a fan of the NBA. I could care less about the Lakers rolling over <Enter team name here> in <Enter corporate sponsored arena name here>. Passing to your big man in the paint time and time again doesn't impress me. With that said, "NBA Street Vol. 2" knocks me out of my seat and dribbles the ball off my face! This is straight-up, old school, smooth skills, street basketball at its very finest. The original "NBA Street" was great with the tricks and the stars of the modern day NBA, but "Street 2" gives you the ultimate roster of ABA and NBA legends from which to choose and play. Who can possibly beat a trio consisting of Dr. J, Larry Legend, and MJ? What about Magic, Tiny, and The Hawk? On top of that, you've got moves and tricks so sweet you'll have to visit the dentist each time you play. New additions to the moves make the gameplay deeper and more entertaining. The first "NBA Street" gave you a limited number of combos that got boring after a lot of play. The moves in "Street 2" are new and numerous so boredom won't be setting in at all. I'm glad to see original game announcer, "Joe the Show," move on. After a day or two of playing, I'd heard everything he had to say and muted him for good. (How many times do I need to hear "Ladies and gentlemen... Michael Jordan is back!") "Street 2's" Bobbito is funny and witty and brings excitement to the game. You feel good when he praises you for a good play and you feel crummy when he cracks on you for a bad play. The courts are authentic and you travel all over the country in your quest to the the best baller there is, was, or will be. This game is kid-friendly, teen-friendly, and adult-friendly. It would be fun to play with a person who watched the ABA legends and NBA stars in their prime. They'd get a big kick out of watching Pistol Pete take on Yao Ming or watching Wilt "The Stilt" ball it against Shaq. So get off the couch, lace up the Chuck Taylors, and ball like you've never balled before!

Yep this game has lived up to every ounce of the hype and praise it has received. Everyone pretty much told you about the game but I'll give you a breakdown.Pros: Cons: As you have read the Pros far outweigh the Cons. This is probably the best game I have ever played and it's even more fun when you have friends to play it with. This is a greater game than the first one by far. 5 stars...must have.

If you've played the first NBA Street and are looking for a reason to get the second one, or if you're interested in what the game is about, I'll give you five reasons to get it(at least):1) Wilt Chamberlin, Clyde Drexler, Dr. J., Magic, Bird, 'Nique, and a bunch of other old school ballers There are a LOT more reasons to get this game, but these are some of the best ones. Suffice to say, if you enjoy NBA basketball, the And 1 commercials, and/or the first NBA Street, there should be no reason why you don't click and order this. It's probably the best playing bball game out there, and the entertainment/replay value is incredible.

This is is best nba street Ever lets you play with all legends like 1985 Jordan,1996 Jordan, larry bird,Daryl Dawkins,Dr.J,Magic Johnson,Connie Hawkins,Bill Walton almost all the legends are on here. The Ps2's Controller Fits this game so perfect. That the gameplay is a 9.5 out of 10.At first i bought the xbox version because i thought it would have better graphics and gameplay but i was wrong ps2 graphics are the same as the Xbox,The ps2 blows the xbox version out of the water.Everything is so precise and smooth.on xbox you only have 2 buttons to do tricks which is lame.on ps2 you got 4 shoulder buttons. So people who say Ps2 can't Produce good games and graphics are just people who own 1 console either gamecube or Xbox or just hates The playstation 2.I have all three consoles so i know what im talking about.I love my xbox but what games are there to play only Halo thats the only best exclusive game they got, Splinter cell not even splinter cell it's on all systems now...

Well, I guess that one street game just isn't enough... This game is a must-have for all street ball lovers. Just like Street 1, this game has 145 street ballers, but unlike Street 1, this game also has an "Old School" team, and that includes some legends such as Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, and Wilt Chamberland. This game also includes the option to save you Game-Breakers, and use them any time that you need them. This game also includes the more shake moves and more create-a-player options. This game will be very promising.

EA BIG has pulled out all of the stops once again!!!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: NBA Street Volume 2 (Video Game)
Wow!!! This game absolutely rules compared to others. What sets it apart from all other sports games on the Playstation 2 is it's intense depth, graphics, enjoyment, and much more. Also, it is a true sequel to NBA Street in that it follows the same format. However, it definitely builds off what the first game created: a complex and well thought out streetball world. In this fantastic game, there are wonderous players from the past and also from the present, throwback jerseys from numerous teams, new intense streetball moves, new courts to control, and much more. Why don't you try a reverse slam with the monsterous Shaquille O'neal , or try to pull off a sweet kick pass with Kevin Garnett. On top of all of this, EA BIG fine tuned some minor things which transformed it luxury car engine into that of a smooth, intense Ferrari engine. For example, you can now hold onto your gamebreakers until whenever you would like to use them. In this way, you can shoot two or three at a time. Also, you can unlock top-notch players of Old sush as Wilt Chamberlain, Larry Bird, Pete Maravich, and many others. There is also an NBA Challenge mode where you can take on the cream of the crop. However, be careful not to go into a challenge with inexperienced rookies. There is a very good chance that you will lose badly. All in all, this game leaves nothing hovering in the dark like other games do. NBA Street Vol.2 puts everything out on the table and also a little extra. The team at EA has pulled another great game out of the magician's hat. Hopefully, the intense, humorous streetball world will live on in other games from Electronic Arts. Well done indeed!!!

Fun game - take control of TMAC!!!,
By Brian Shaw "bshaw20" (Orlando, FL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: NBA Street Volume 2 (Video Game)
NBA Street 2 is a better version than last year's and the best part is the fact that they got rid of the annoying announcer!! Fast gameplay, better teams and players, and a great create your own player makes this game a must have. There are no starting lineup intros, no coach intros, and no shoe editing. You can't edit numbers and attributes either, but this is an arcade and not a simulation. This game is so fast, and the computer runs the break everytime and throws alleyoops and throws down sick jams everytime. It is very arcadey. Take control of TMAC, Kobe, THUD, even rookies like Drew Gooden and Yao Ming! Also take control of the awesome Ben Wallace, who can pack shots with ease in this game! The legends are all here as well, including three Jordan's - the 1985 MJ, the 1996 MJ, and the Wizards MJ. The Wizards MJ, for some reason, always wears pants instead of shorts. Get this now, you won't be disappointed!!

Like all great games, this game is addictive. Be A Legend mode reels you in and doesn't let you go. You'll be customizing your baller, practicing trick moves and dunks, and battling ballers with mad game till the break of dawn, or later.
The game's controls are unbelievably precise. Once you get them down completely, you will feel a freedom most sports games don't allow you. You will be throwing down back 2 papas, off the heezays, and double gamebreakers with pride as your opponents scramble for the ball. On legendary, Be A Legend mode is truly challenging, but it's the most rewarding way to play the game. One of the most exciting moments in the game is when you finally "crown" one of your baller's attributes. And once you max a player out, the game is more fun than ever. If you really want to be crazy (like me), play the game until you've accumulated enough points to max out at least 6 players, but make sure each one has a different crown (steals, dunks, shots)... Then play 4-man multi-player with those ballers! Then you will be to the heart of what makes this game a classic. Also, when playing multi-player, be sure to put the difficulty mode on legendary. This will make each team's computer player participate better. The multi-player aspect of this game is the absolute best part. There have been weeks on end during which my friends and I would do nothing but play this game. The laughs were endless! The victory and humiliation were sick! We couldn't get enough. There aren't many games than can beat the sheer excitement of two vs. two multi-player in NBA Street Volume 2. I've never played the first Street, but I tried playing the third one not long after it came out. I wasn't convinced. It had new features that seemed cool (like the slam dunk contest), but it lacked the all-around goodness of volume 2. In all honesty, I think volume 2 is the only one you'll ever need. Also, the music selection is good, the character physics are impressive, and the variety of courts is cool. The icing on the cake is fine-tuning a character to have all of your favorite tricks, dunks, and apparel so that you can trash your buddies with unforgiving majesty! Dah hahahaha!!! I want to personally thank EA Sports (EA Big) for this game. They really accomplished something special here. Get yourself and your friends into this game. You will not regret it. This is easily one of the most fun and addictive multi-player games available for the Playstation 2. This is classic!!! |
